Yeah, its an amazing couch on 4 wheels. Perfect "pang-hakot" and flood car. Its massive but the visibility is very good compared to current SUVs. The size was useable when I started driving a bit over 10 years ago but now its inconvenient to use in parking basements and the narrow lanes of the skyway and NAIAX.

Meanwhile, LC80s that are much older than modern expeditions are still fetching for close to a million peso or higher. And as usual, the most desired units are the local and preserved ones.
As for the expedition, they said that the first and maybe second gens are more reliable compared to their respective successors. But they have 4-speed autos which are already super archaic these days.
The ladder-frame explorer can be a more ideal alternative to it if size is a concern. But it sucks that the local model only came out with the small cologne v6 engine (it used to have timing chain issues), not the modular 4.6l v8.

You Poor People Didn't Buy The Land Cruiser VX, So Toyota Motor Philippines Canned It | CarGuide
Rich people had little reason to chase the “entry-level” Land Cruiser 300 VX that Toyota Motor Philippines has decided to discontinue it altogether. Now, if you really, really, really want a large SUV to go with that 8 plate (or vlog) of yours, you need to splurge extra for the now solitary Land Cruiser 300 ZX variant.

January 29th, 2025 12:48 AM #595haha the level of snark in the headline!
But Toyota's not wrong though. At that price point nobody is going to balk at the extra 350k vs having a bare car.
The lack of modern amenities was a huge complaint if you ask those who bought LC200s early. Before the facelift it didn't even have a backup camera, and the lights were all standard halogen reflectors.Last edited by Dr.Kamiya; January 29th, 2025 at 01:01 AM.

Report: Toyota Land Cruiser FJ could be revealed by mid-2025 | TopGear PH
expected to be called the Land Cruiser FJ, a callback to the FJ Cruiser sold from 2006 to 2022. It was previewed during the launch of the all-new Land Cruiser Prado way back in August 2023. At the time, Toyota only showed a shadowy figure of the small SUV.

Toyota Land Cruiser 300 gets minor updates, upgrades for ’25 | TopGear PH
what’s new for the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser? That would be the instrument cluster. Gone is the old Optitron dials, and in is a fully digital display. It’s a first for the full-size Land Cruiser line, and it comes with multiple styles. Also, higher trim models get a larger 12.3-inch screen, while entry-level versions make do with 7 inches.
Another update is found under the hood. No, it’s not more power, but it’s for emissions compliance. It’s a new exhaust gas regulator for diesel-fed models.
Oh, no....I didn't know there were casualties. So sorry about that. Ramon Ang said he will...
