No more v8 for the nextgen LC. Could the smaller LC Prado possibly get the V6 Diesel also?

V6 powered? It should make it more efficient. The 8-banger power plant really seems to be on the way out for mass-production consumer vehicles.

8 cylinder is bullet proof literally and figuratively. Dont need a lot of boost to stress the engine to get the torque you need to pull thia beast.

Did Toyota ever fix the 8's oil burning? All the buds here w/ 200s have the same issue. Top up is easy though, but none is better.

At 5t km i religiously change oil and filters. And yes it does consume oil but not at an alarming rate.

Yeah, we observed about a liter every 2k. Discussed this way back in a gathering to the surprise of some. True enough, upon checking their dipsticks then & there, some were down low. None of them towed anything. Some live up the slopes. Good thing this quirk was found early.

Toyota should consider an Inline-6 Diesel for their new line. Reincarnation of the 1HD series.

I will go against the grain hehe.....take my money! Im a fan. Excited for the new LC300. Though admittedly the CVT is worrying....especially for something supposedly so hardcore.

Having said that...will still keep my 2 LC200s as they are wonderful beasts. They are keepers but i also wont get stuck in the past. Am sure these guys know what they are doing with the new model. They have a very rabid fan base whom they cant afford to disappoint.

Remember the disappointment that was the 100?[emoji848]
They had to bring the rigid axle back in the form of the 105.

Yes its a CVT, but on low speeds or towing, it will use its 4 speed gearbox.
    Hybrid combo.

    Cvt for cruising
    4AT for loads

    Galeng!
