Go to any upper-middle class to rich area and you will see many LC300s. There are few alternatives here. You could get a Patrol but that has a gas-fed V8. Another option is the Tahoe but that also gas a gas-fed V8 and lesser "perceived reliability." The Ford Expedition was once a contender but Ford PH no longer offers it.

People who buy BMW X5s, Land Rover Defenders, Lexus RX, and etc are in a different market

Aside from the brand image, a lot of LCs are also found on streets because their large diesels make them more efficient too compared to something else huge that's usually petrol. That would be a good factor if they use one as a daily-driver, moreso if they go through a lot of traffic. But even then, who cares about fuel consumption if people can buy these luxury cars. Lol.

"It's possible! The V6 diesel could be a good fit for the Prado, offering a balance of power and efficiency. We'll have to wait for official announcements to know for sure!"

Who cares about fuel consumption when you have the money to buy a 7M car.

"Without the V8, the V6 diesel seems like a strong contender for the Prado. It could offer solid performance while meeting modern efficiency standards. Let’s see what Toyota decides!"

Surprisingly there are people who do care about fuel consumption at this level. These are the same kind of people who install solar panels on their 200m houses and rotate time deposits over a 25bps difference.

Yes. These folks can also opt to put a full tank on their cars and then after that, just commute to wherever they're going instead of using or driving them in traffic.

Speaking of Expeditions, I was browsing FB Marketplace and could not believe how cheap those things go for nowadays. 500-600k you can have a previous-gen Expedition EL already, or the short version of the 2nd gen for 200-250k. < 200k for the OG.

I know gas is expensive, but when you have 300k extra for fill-ups you can probably drive a guzzler for a few years before you start losing money.
