Nice pics of the SU-39. A mud-slugger turned to a air to air fighter...

Su-39 is a pretty good attack aircraft. Combat proven, as its based on the Su-25.
According to the following site, its all weather attack aircraft that can be used for air to ground, air to air, air to ship, anti radar, anti tank. They claim its the cheapest an efective attack aircraft available. Has rough field capability and can even use diesel fuel if needed.

I actually think heavy-hitting choppers would serve us better right now, what with rebels running loose.

If not, something to the likes of the A10 would be fine. Able to carry heavy armaments (huge gatling gun FTW). But then, knowing American technology, they would be quite expensive. From reading the last few posts though, I suppose the Su39 is a cheaper, more versatile alternative?

I think multi-role fighter aircraft is the way to go since there isn't a lot of funds to go around to acquire anything else.

The A10's role is really to hit ground targets and act as close air support and its pretty much useless for anything else (although it performs this role really well).

well tbh, you don't need the GAU avenger anti tank gun since the rebels don't have squat protection. just the Su-39 will do fine though I still like the Yak-130, plus I don't think the US will mind us getting yakovlevs since the US(lockheed martin) has a history of cooperation with them(namely from yak-41(141) to F-35)

At last! Malapit na rin tayo bumile ng bagong fighter jets! the budget is out and i think before end of 2010 the PAF are goin to push through with the neg for the jets. I think they're still desciding w/c one???

If you ask me realistically and cost, budget, maintenance wise and at the same time best performance we can get, where better of buying Kfir c7,c10 from Israel 1 or 2 squadron!!! kasi mga $7m lang ang isa bnew/recon. If a country like Sri langka na mas mahirap pa sa atin naka bile ng 8 Kfir fighter jets at na maintain nila kasi low maintenance nga daw, and its an advance design of Dissault MIRAGE V ng France.

And 5 or 6 F18 na pang main show force! for sure kahit sinong bansa magiisip muna bago tayo alam mo na??? tutal USA din ang mag go signal kasi limitado lang ang sales ng Kfir sa mga foreign countries kasi powerful engine j79 by GE and design by ISRAELI DEFENSE FORCE. countries like US,ISRAEL,COLUMBIA,EQUADOR,SRI LANGKA are the only ones na meron nito. Im sure US won't mind.

Kahit meron na ang MALAYSIA,THAILAND,SINGAPORE, NG F18,F16,GRIPEN, EURO FIGHTER eh di biro ang combination ng 16 Kfir at 6 F18 Ha!!!

Just to convince the Philippine Govt. and the people which jet should we buy? here's a nice french true story movie about FIGHTER JETS and the ones that are used in this movie are the DISSAULT MIRAGE 2000 na kung saan galing ang design ng Kfir na mas na improved and advanced ng Israel. " SKY FIGHTERS" PLEASE CHECK IT OUT! especially the PHILIPPINE AIR FORCE and the PHILIPPINE GOVT.

Check out- OVGUIDE MOVIES.COM for the videos of SKY FIGHTERS! its a nice movie french nga lang language! but the dog fights are awesome!! it showed the full potencial of the Mirage 2000 w/c is less powerful than the advanced Kfirs.

IF WE HAVE THE MONEY THEN WE MUST SPEND IT WISELY!
-within the budget ,maximized, with best potencial result!
rather than spending it w/ a lot of F16,18's,GRIPEN,F1, older junk etc. w/c are high maintenance that will be hard for us.

THIS SHOULD BRING BACK OUR RESPECT! I think yan ang nawala sa atin eh? Especially from our neighbouring countries like CHINA,MALAYSIA may pagka bully yan.....
kung may jet tayo maka pasok ba CHINA sa SPRATLY???

I WISH THIS WOULD HELP OUR PAF TO DESCIDE?

    6 F18s
    or MORE!

Yes if we can spread our budget and maximized it at the same time that would be good! But we must have some fighter jets to protect our airspace and its also an additional income! sabi nga nung isang General natin forgot his name?
If we survived w/ F5's for so many years eh kita niyo nangyari bulok na! what can you expect for a $100 each na token from S.korea ****! what you pay is what you get! saka na yun mga F16's,F18's kasi high cost & maintenance yan unlike Kfirs. kung SRI LANGKA na mahirap pa sa atin eh meron 8 Kfirs to protect they're airspace and using them also for counter insurgents because they also have problem w/ Tiger groups in there country like abu sayaf, na maintain nila yun planes nila and budget wise that means feasible sa atin ang Kfirs basta we try to get the reconditioned one yun almost bnew na inoffer ng Israel w/ extras pa nga daw na mga missiles etc. these will last for 10 to 15years could be more.... coz the style and design are advanced and limited to few countries and can be compared to most advanced jets.
If we have like Kfirs 2 SQUADRONS like 8*= 16 Jets to start w/ ok na yun! tpos buy the rest every year hanggang dumami! ng 24 to 36 as per original plans ng PAF & GOVT.

I know it's hard thinking about & buying these things n this day and age but we desperately need it!!! "It's better to have one and need it! than need it and not have it".. when it's too late???
We can't rely on USA all the time because they have their own interests as well to protect... Do you think example; If someone invades us now like CHINA (which will never happen i hope..) the US will just jump to our rescue???

It's different before when we had the US bases pa! and the GOVT. before is responsible for all these lapses in AFP Modernization, dpat before they kicked out the US bases nakapag upgrade na tayo muna!
so that we won't have to worry about our country's national security. After that kita mo CHINA occupied some islands in spratly! kasi alam ng CHINA wala tayong THREAT!
And if ever na invade tayo? just like WW2 taon pa BAGO nakabalik si Uncle Sam diba! (LET'S THINK AND DESCIDE FAST) . Im not saying this is going to happen, hope not! this is just a must for us to do!

Maybe that's also the reason why almost all SE asian countries are trying to upgrade they're Armed Forces particularly AIR DEFENCE FORCES, kasi yan ang unang ginagamit sa counter invation! to eliminate threats like nuclear weapons! Which wala tayo!!!

LET'S GET THESE BABIES FOR THE MEAN TIME!
