    re: wobble

read a lot about this on 4x4 phil and bigjimny.... they say a steering damper only hides the real problem and does not correct the cause.... read this: BigJimny Forum :: Topic: THE DEATH WOBBLE THREAD (1/4) it details the causes of the wobble... balancing and kingpin bearings are only two factors.... hope this helps....

    re: tire size

in the jimny world, changing tires from stock is to achieve two things, more traction: from the original HT Duellers to an AT or MT.... or more clearance... from 205 to 215 or from 70 to 75.......... i now use Savero AT 205 70 r 15 on my 05..... the thread design will give you the traction you need when off-road... on road, the noise level is not that audible... as for height, my outer diameter is 668 mm.... if you were to change to a 205 75 r15 your outer diameter will go to 688.5 mm or you are now have gained a little higher clearance of 3% without rubbing or almost an inch, if you go 215 70 15 your outer diameter will go to 682.5 slightly smaller gain..... a 2.1% gain.... without modification, both will fit a jimny........i got my Savero at 3850 per tire way back early 2012... there are price increases as the tire gets bigger.... so far so good......

mindanao based po ako.... davao city... when i was canvassing for prices, the highest was about 450 higher than the 3850 i got with free mounting, balancing (except weights)... so take you time, 450 per tire is a lot...

    hi

extremely happy 1-week-old jimny owner here binili ko sa suzuki pasig, black. sa 1 week na 'to twice ko na sya out of town dinala - sa pampanga at sa batangas. mas ok sya sa highway than expected sa totoo lang. super happy ako sa purchase ko.

500 kilometers na ako so nagtatanong na ako tungkol sa 1000km check up ko. would like to ask lang, bakit necessary na sa 1k at 5k pareho change oil na agad? tapos every 5k daw ang succeeding change oil. parang ang dalas - di ba pag fully synthetic dapat aabot ng at least 10k?

Congrats bro. The 1K tune uo is to adjust the cylinder heads, so I was told. The 5k is the usual PMS. If fully synthetic dapat 10k lang but i suggest you follow the manual to avoid voiding your warranty in case of future claims.

    I think therefore I am...

Any opinion on when to use fully synthetic oil? I've read before (in the 80's :-)) that you should not even consider shifting unless you have logged on at least 30k kilometers in your odometer. Any truth to this?

I clarified with casa and they said that if I use fully synthetic, then PMS is every 10k but the 1st 1k and 5k is crucial.

I hope it's not a bad thing, but I'm an advocate of fully synthetic all the way. My ford is at 125k kilometers and never had any engine trouble. have been very religious with fully synthetic every 10k.

That's encouraging to know. Would you recommend shifting to fully synthetic oil after only 5k?

I had it checked out sa Pilhino when I had my injection coils replaced, ang diagnosis nila is to replace the knuckle bearings on both sides. I had it repacked a couple of years ago when I noticed the wobble. However the wobble came back again this year, so I guess that's the culprit. Ipon muna ako at medyo mahal.

Nalula ako sa presyo ng injections coils, P5K+ a pop. I had to replace both kasi bali na pareho. The Jimny is running better now, no more tope!

Hi all, I have a new jimny and am very happy with it. Ask ko lang how much ang OME lift kit? Hindi ba mavovoid ang warranty if I get a lift? Thanks!

    Gandang Umaga

    Meron kaming Jimny 1990 Model.
Since mahigit dalawang dekada na ang tanda eh worn out na talaga ang interior at exterior.
Saan ba makakabili ng mga spare parts for very old Jimny?

    disclaimer: i don't own a jimny.

from what i have read, the latest jimny is mechanically identical to the previous models. that means that there would be similar issues. however, as far as i know, the wobble only gets troublesome after tire/suspension upgrades. That means keeping it stock would minimize the problem.

ps: maliit ata jimny for a family car sir...

    Thanks for the response.

Been reading from other forums and viewing youtube videos regarding Jimny wobble as well.
Yes there have been claims that the wobble usually shows once tire/suspension upgrades have been done.
Although, I don't have any intent to do such upgrades and probably keep it stock as long as possible
But according to what I gather so far, the "fix" is to add "shims".
Hence my original enquiry, if the Jimny sold in the Philippines were already "fix"ed?
Hopefully, some of the Jimny owner's can confirm this, please...

Family of 4 lang kami, so sakto lang siya, but if si misis ang papipiliin, ecosport na lang daw
