Even the compact crossovers (Forester, CX5, CRV) are much more comfortable nowadays.
During our trip in the US last May of 2017, I got the chance to drove 5 vehicles:

    1) Honda Pilot

    2) BMW X5

    3) Mazda 6

    4) Chrysler Town and Country

    5) Subaru Forester

Among these five, Town and Country offered the best ride and comfort. And it's a 20 year old vehicle BTW.

Second would be the Mazda 6 (a sedan) which I think was almost 7 years old driven by my sister in law.

Tied for third are the 2 year old Subaru Forester and a 3 year old Honda Pilot, while the BMW X5 would be the least in terms of ride and comfort.

Of course these were just my observations.

^^^ A minivan is always geared for comfort. These vehicles are the first option among families when ferrying people. My wife and I rented a Dodge Caravan and together with her parents and sister took a long drive from Chicago to Pinehurst (20 hours). Most boring drive ever but the trip was comfortable.

European vehicles tend to be designed with a stiffer ride compared to American or Japanese. However, the Germans love their vehicles fast thus the need for stiffer suspensions.

I also did a long drive of 10 hours along I5

Anyways, I'm happy for my ertiga as a minivan with superb driving comfort and ride at under 800K

The engine gives decent acceleration though I notice a bit of sluggishness from 60 to 80 KPH during my NLEX drive going to Manila. I guess this is normal since it's still on its "break-in" stage. I just drove up to 110 KPH at almost 3,000 RPM.

So far so good, and this, IMHO, is far better than my previous Toyota Avanza.

Congrats paps..and welcome to the cLUV

I will be checking this out soon.

I do hope the prices of the new generation won't breach the 1M mark.

there is an expected small price increase. but it will go against the expander pricing as its main competitor.

I'm sure they will be getting their hands full if the new gen Ertiga will be leveled with the Xpander and I suppose with the Rush also.

IMHO, baka ang launching nito will be on last quarter of the year. Ipapaubos muna nila yun previous gen Ertiga.

I got my Suzuki Ertiga last Aug 2017. Ever since it wasn't heavily used. It only has around 8k on the odometer. Last May 31, 2018 the airconditioning wasn't working anymore. Plus there is a loud noise when i turn off the A/C. I immediately sent the car to Suzuki Taytay the following day, June 1. They said the magnetic clutch was corroded that is why the aircon is off and there is no cooling. Also explains the loud noise. I was advised not to use the car so that it wouldn't get any worse. They'll request for warranty approval first before they order the parts to do the service fix.

Its more than a week now and its entering the 2nd week of not using the car. A lot of scheduled outings were messed up. i don't know the warranty SOP. Its just frustrating to watch an almost brand new car not being used because of a technical problem and a red tape warranty process. I hope this gets fixed soon.

P.s.: And NO. I never had the car engine washed.

That's the email i sent to Suzuki. Sorry just frustrated with it. The best way daw tlga is just to follow up and follow up lng.

Pure bad luck sa aircon pa man din.

My friend's 6 month old Fortuner got a defective shock absorber. Since it's still warranty, he needs to wait for a replacement. He waited 2 months for the replacement part though sa case niya, he can still use his vehicle. Maingay lang yun sa may ilalim where the defective shock absorber was. Sa case mo naman, very uncomfortable to drive without any AC.

You can try to demand from your dealer to just get a compressor from one of their units in the warehouse so they can just retrofit it onto your car. Naka warranty naman yan so I guess they may allow it.

casas are known for replacing parts, even if they can be repaired.
if i were me, i would bring the car to the aircon shop, for a look-see.
sometimes, the price of repair is just a few hundred bucks, and much of that is for the labor.
just make sure they leave no evidence of "tampering".

The car sit idle for months?

If so you should be running the engine weekly for 5 minutes just to circulate the lubricant on the aircon system to prevent clutch stuck up

Most likely due to this theyll void your warranty
