and bro thanks again sa additional information!
sorry sir, not that much help.. heheh.. but as far as i have experienced, from the van itself.. im very much satisfied.. dumadami na ang naka APV ngayon sa kalsada... before i got mine, wala pa masyado.. ngayon every day i see a minimum of 3 to 5...

to be honest, di pa ko nakapag-pa service sa suzuki... my APV came from Suzuki Pasay-Macapagal, and its imperative sakin na hindi siya ma-wala for more than 2 days.. its my daily drive kasi.

Im assuming that they need more than 1 day to service my van so I'd rather have it serviced sa ibang lugar para 1 day or half-a-day lang siya na hindi magagamit.

My brother had the APV's first 5k change oil sa casa.. which is always free for all vehicles.. the second change oil, I had it last month kay speedyfix, for less than 2 hours. (change oil, spark plugs 3k all in all)

My next service, im expecting it to be costly. change oil, air filter, transmission oil, differential oil, tire rotate, tune up.

By that time, Im sure that madami na din akong makikilalang magaling mag service ng APV rather than sa CASA..

But from the feedbacks that I have heard, most suzuki service centers has good reputations, except for others that are not really 'suzuki owned' like the one in shaw blvd (nabasa ko lang) in macapagal, its under 'wheelers' or 'wheels' something...

IMHO, dederecho na lang ako suzuki talaga.. if any problem arises with my van and needs expert attention.

mine was until for the first 5k lang. (hindi na nakipag haggle brother ko nung kinuha namin yung apv last july 2009.) and medjo mas gusto kasi namin magpagawa sa mas trusted naming mekaniko kaya hindi na kami nakipag pilitan pa sa part na yun.

ask away lang sir.. ill answer the best as i can.. madaming expert dito.. madalang lang sila mag online.

that's why im starting to pick out other optional parts para sa van ko.

Hello mga peeps...pa-join sa thread ha....I just bought my APV Type 2 GLX m/t at Shaw 2 weeks ago, nice color: burgundy red.
I have some inquiries information maybe u can help me:
    1) San ba pwede bumili ng accessories? Syempre ung mura.
Well, baka normal since new pa.
    3) I disagree with Suzuki na walang 1K PMS, dapat meron, standard un. The dealer cant explain to me why. Compared to a more reliable brand toyota, they have 1K PMS, why cant they have it? Tinitipid ba tayong customers? or over-confident lang sila sa product nila?
    4) I heard AOG is required now by banks, but I read that you can comply, but haggle with the AOG inclusions so you can lessen the insurance cost.
    5) I thank my salesman / dealer for giving me a back-up sensor for free (mamili daw ako either un or door visor), un n lng pnili ko para under warranty nila yung elevtrical. ung door visor, madali kong makakabit.
    6) Sana naman may child lock proof, seat belt alarm, door open alarm, and rear mud guards as standard sa GLX variant without the added cost.
    7) Always check the financing scheme offered to you. --> I'll explain this in another thread.
P300 naka aircon, balikan Manila to Tanay..more than 70kms total nun...i think matipid naman.
    10) Sana Ipod capable na lng instead of a tape deck ung stereo.

I like my APV, hindi ako nagsisisi sa pagbili ko, here are some reasons why i didnt choose yung mga kinonsider kong iba sa budget range ko:
    1) I went to Toyota Shaw, kapatat lng ng Suzuki Shaw...feeling ang salespersons nila, hindi din sila ganung ka-friendly or accomodating para makakuha ka...namimili ba sila ng customers? or wala silang paki, kasi alam nilang Toyota sila, maraming bibili kahit hindi ka bumili?..na-turn off ako sa kanila.
    2) Avanza - too small for my needs though I heard its more fuel efficient. kasi 1.5? at 1.6 si APV? i think incomparable kasi magkaiba engine displacement, though sa body pwede mo compare. Yung J kasi taxi eh.
    3) APV GA - dapat ito bilhin ko, kaso 170K lang difference sa GLX, so ito n lng binili ko para hiindi na ako maglalagay ng burloloy kasi elegante and more respectable na tingnan (no offense sa GA owners), i dont need the other stuffs at SGX. company car.
    4) Adventure GLX - masyado ng luma, pantaxi (no offense to adventure owners), company car. mahal na din
    6) Crosswind XL - too old design, taxi/company car. too basic looking, walang dating.
Just sharing my views.

Hi Ms. Meredith, welcome to tsikot APV thread!

Here are my answers regarding to some of your questions.. (reasearched this on other forums and websites because im also planning to have some optional stuff to be put on my van)

    1) San ba pwede bumili ng accessories? Syempre ung mura.

(but i didnt care less... as long as fair ang price kaya lang hinde..)

    2) One time sinagad ko steering wheel when turning, may kumatok sa steering, pero after nun, try ko uli maraming beses, wala na. normal ba ito? kasi i had older cars before, wala naman ganito sound. Well, baka normal since new pa.

    - the tok! sound is being heard on most of APVs - not that much an issue 'daw' but still its quite bothersome.. ako din nakaka rinig ng tok from the start.. after that wala na. other apv members in other forums already had it checked, wala daw makitang problema.. its still in the 'grey area' where that sound came from.

    - i do agree with this, they should have the 2nd 10k maintenance free of charge as well.. but personally, since my APV is a daily drive, i cant afford to waste more than half a day to have it fixed/maintained in the CASA. (they really take time to have a simple change oil... more than half i day afaik.)

    4) I heard AOG is required now by banks, but I read that you can comply, but haggle with the AOG inclusions so you can lessen the insurance cost.

    - not sure regarding this... my insurance with BPI is around 11k+ (renewal ko na this july)

    5) I thank my salesman / dealer for giving me a back-up sensor for free (mamili daw ako either un or door visor), un n lng pnili ko para under warranty nila yung elevtrical. ung door visor, madali kong makakabit.

    - as long as its free.. take it! take it! hehehe....

    6) Sana naman may child lock proof, seat belt alarm, door open alarm, and rear mud guards as standard sa GLX variant without the added cost.

    - sorry, im using GA variant lang.. hehe.. no kids yet.. baka next year pa magka-baby if ever... and if so.. i-tatali ko siya sa likod para hindi siya makulit.. (joke lang :D)

    7) Always check the financing scheme offered to you. --> I'll explain this in another thread.

    - yes indeed! got a good deal with ours. thanks to my brother..

    - another known issue with APVs... yes.. the front wheel wells are really close... but it takes a while to adjust. buti na lang sanay ako sa masikip.. ahihihihi!

P300 naka aircon, balikan Manila to Tanay..more than 70kms total nun...i think matipid naman.

    - APV specs from Suzuki said that it runs around 9km/liter.. comparing to other 1.6 SOHC engines, its normal to quite a bit higher... comparing to other 1.6 engines, they can go around 10 to 11km/liter... Im also continuing to observe my fuel consumption.. currently averaging around 9 to 10 km/liter.
    * 16,500 Kms on the ODO
    * Fully Synthetic Oil - Royal Purple 3W-30
    * 35psi on all 4 wheels (going nitrogen this weekend yahuuu!)
    * Shell Premium - Prevously on Shell Unleaded...

    10) Sana Ipod capable na lng instead of a tape deck ung stereo.

    - huh?!?!?! tape deck!?!??! I have a JVC low end CD player.. planning to change it into a pioneer DVD 7" touch screen TV.. (exited na ko!)

watchout for the uneven tyre wear in the front. Inner part gets consumed faster.

Also Front shock asborbers. I had premature leak on front left strut. though warranty claim naman.

Other than that its a great vehicle.

Naupod din yung inner part ng gulong ko, I only noticed it when I replaced my stock wheels with mag wheels.

Do I need camber alignment ba? Baka magkaganun din yung new tire/s ko, although inabot naman ng 5 years yung stock wheels before I replaced them.

Will appreciate it if somebody can respond to this. I went to Toyota to negotiate for an Avanza and I got what I wanted. considering the price I am working on.

[quote=olidotcom;1508860]Hi Ms. Meredith, welcome to tsikot APV thread!

    Hi olidotcom:

    Thanks for the information.
    1) Baka meron ka pang ibang alam na specific stores to buy the accessosies besides the Fronte? My agent advised me to get it outside. I bought my door visor for P1,700, ung magandang klase na hindi brittle. seems ok, sana mura nga yung P1,700.

    2) Up to now, wala pa akong "tok" na naririnig muli. Simple problem na ganun, what more sa ibang problems. Sa ibang bansa, yung ganung "tok" maselan, pina-check agad. Hopefully, it doesnt do any harm to cause accident or future repair na tayong owners mag-shoulder pa ng cost. Does it mean, need ng mechanics ng suzuki mag-retrain or train sa suzuki mismo? Attention Suzuki dealers!

    3) weekends ko lang gamitin APV ko, in one month of ownership, 400+ kms pa lng tinakbo. Minsan kasi mas madali ka pang makapunta sa destination mo ng commute considering the traffic, tapos added cost pa yung gas/parking. Since wala na nmn ako mbigat na dala to ofc, i'd rather commute and enjoy my APV weekends.

Sa next year n lng ako kuha ng lower insurance...sana wala ng AOG this time.

    5) hehehe...yeah as long as libre, take it...sana meron pa silang promo na free fuel like nuon. Hindi ko lang alam if free nuon talaga yung mga dvd player, monitors, roof rack or added cost un...pero kung free, sayang, sana umabot din...

    6) Hahaha...wag mo naman itali, makakawala pa yan, ikadena mo na lang...hehehe...kidding aside...i really wish all those i mentioned were in the glx type 2. Though you have a GA, it is still good, maganda pa din ayusan yan.

    7) Buti maalam bro mo sa financing!

    8) i think the design is there to stay na just enough movement lang ang feet room sa floor.

    9) parang 10-12 km/liter ang consumption ko. Sabi nga nila, tama lang for a 1.6L, pero sana it gets better while it gets older. depende siguro sa driving habit mo. around 2000 rpm lgi takbo ko, less braking, constant speed.

    10) Naka-CD changer/MP3 na GLX, maybe you know, meron din kasing tape deck na kasama. To some, maybe they like it, but I prefer an ipod ready stereo. I have a JVC DVD player, but cant install it kasi ma-void daw warranty ko. So i'll install it in my next car, hopefully makabili ako ng Alto or Celerio this year. i wish...pero baka next year pa..tagal.

Sabi ng dealer, matatagalan pa daw before maglabas ng new look.

been using shell unleaded for almost 1 year already. but just i just changed last week to shell premium... same fuel consumption (if there are any changes, i havent felt it yet) but what i felt is my engine has quite more power...

normal way ko to work is skyway.. the next day after i changed gasoline blends na-ramdaman ko siya that it has quite more umph nung nasa skyway na ko.

going back... yeah.. shell unleaded is safe.. acually.. afaik all gasoline has e10 blends already as mandated by our government.

I think some factors why they say the APV consumes more gas compared to Avanza:
    1) Its a 1.6 compared to 1.5 or 1.3 Avanza.
    2) It has a high boxy design, so the drag coeffiennt is much higher than avanza (w/ an aerodynamic design) when travelling especially at high speeds so its puts more pressure into the engine therefore needs more gas.
    3) If im not mistaken, it is heavier than the avanza.
    4) It has a truck design capacity ans suspension kasi meant for hauling purposes ito, unlike sa avanza na car like (i think same as vios) kaya tahimik ito, hindi matagtag.

Poor sound insulation ba ito? or ganun ba talaga?

mga bros palagi ko nababasa lamang ng Avanza sa APV is underpinnings, nabasa ko rin na their is already improvements from the first generation....

ano po yung ibig sabihin nila dito? and how much of an advantage this gives the Avanza over the APV? in the long run ano po yung unang bibigay pag mahina ang underpinnings?

Although i'm a new APV GLX owner, I just thought of the differences or advantages of comparing an APV GA and Avanza J 7-seater:
APV GA (565K) Cheaper than Avanza J (618K), but is it worth it?

GA is single AC while J has dual AC, you need to shell out additional 35K for it to be dual AC, so total is 600K. So total difference now is 18K. Toyota gives 5K discount, Suzuki does not (I think), so the difference now is only 13K.

With 13K, the Avanza J is much loaded, a better single in dash CD, an airbag (I think), hub caps, fully carpeted, 1K PMS checking, hindi matagtag...all these the APV GA does not have....

So bottomline, I think the Avanza J is much value for money althugh 1.3L siyempre mas matipid OR pareho lang?

Although upside ng APV GA, 1.6L engine - more powerful, hindi ginagawang taxi at mas maluwag.

No offense to APV GA owners, just an observation. =)
