    hi guys!

I'm searching for a forum for suzuki alto but i have found none so I decided to start this thread.

I bought my alto last july 22 I got a white de-luxe model. So far so good. I live in caloocan and made the rounds of makati pasay diliman nagtahan sto domingo as part of my weekly work routine. My P500 gas lasted with more to spare. Great savings!

I put window visors, mud guards, change the horn(it only has one so I bought a pair) keyless entry and alarm, sensors for backing up and a pair of oval pioneer speakers 460 watts at the back.

Hope to find alto owners here too.

    God Bless!

Another member, monmendoza, has an Alto, but I don't know if he comes to this part of the boards.

Yes, the shifter is kinda rubbery, but it's useable.

*knight-rider: nice purchase! I've been thinking about one as a third vehicle... medyo mahal kasi gas ngayon...

hay , i made an earlier note but since i'm new in the site , medyo na-lost sa cyberspace ang preview ng na-type ko kanina , so here i go once more ...

my 14yo anak and i are car hunting . i include him sa process na ito kasi his comments will have to be considered ( PSP and PS2 virtual car participation siya ) . presently , move in an AVEO A/T , 1.5L kasi . so i called 2 numbers and i received 2 quotations . car hunting , downsizing my mode of 4wheel transport , po . but 2 of us also move around , 2 wheels , in a 50cc touch-and-go SYM FIDEL .

a few days ago , we had a look-see in a showroom of 1 of the quotations . i found out there is a standard and a deluxe . loved the white standard itsura . and kanina , we had a testdrive of a blue unit 2nd showroom , 5 of us rode in like 3 kms area , pero a Manong drove , not me .

i began of course learning how to drive in '75 in a beetle . an A/T is very helpful in traffic scenario in metro manila traffic . what's the "gummy shift" ba of the comments i hear of the M/T ? part of downsizing comes "mababanas" sa "gummy shifts" ?

i bring my anak to school and i have to go back home : some 11 kms per way . or a 600php gasoline budget . it's another story though sa other trips to visit my folks or pasyal or out-of-towns . what's the fuel consumption kaya of ALTO deluxe or standard sa city driving ?

what's this " first 100,000kms or 3 years , which ever comes first " thinggy for the warranty ? engine di ba? kasi , sa AVEO , had to change battery on 5th month , and shift-lock release switch on 13K kms , all on warranty . yikes , first " 5K kms or 5 months , which ever comes first " visit at the casa was 4400php!

i had a look under the hood , so compact the engine . i have an "inherited" SUZUKI BEAVER '80 which i newly engine overhauled , it's a 3 cylinder too .

i enjoy reading the threads of the car posts in tsikot.com . i hope to read more on ALTO , support group for my quest !

    cATch you later , rebeccaxxx

"Gummy" meaning it feels rubbery... like the shifter is tied to the engine by rubber bands. Gummy is the way it feels to push around.... something like the way an old car might feel. Disappointing in a new car, but considering the price, forgiveable.

Certain items are not covered within the full warranty. The clutch is only warrantied for a short period, since it's a wear item. Brakes, too. The battery carries its own warranty, separate from the car's... but you have to fill out the form and send it to the battery manufacturer... most of us don't bother... when the battery dies, we just buy a new one. This is true for almost all cars. The warranty doesn't cover oil changes... that's regular maintenance... but if the body should rust in areas where there's no collision damage, or if the engine suddenly conks out despite good maintenance, that's covered by warranty.

PMS will cost less than the Aveo. Less oil in the oil change. Economy should be better... you'd probably use half of what you're using now (the Aveo AT is not a very economical car.)

The Alto is a decent choice, considering the price.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    Hi All Suzuki Alto Owners

I have a 3month old Alto, bought it last May '07 and so far I can only say one thing about it - IT'S A GREAT CAR!!!

I get 17 kms/l in the city, it starts every time, never stalls, tough on rough roads, easy to park, a/c is strong, withstands wind resistance from bigger vehicles (even with its small size), dirt cheap (398T for my deluxe).

I bought a red one - very nice but subdued styling, adds to its character...

Recently I got alloy wheels from Banawe - I was very lucky to get Suzuki OEM 4" alloys at 8T.

My wisest car purchase todate I must say. Incidentally, my old car was a '97 Cefiro Elite (good car but expensive to maintain).

    Best Regards
    Noel

    Hi rebeccaxxx,

I own an ALTO deluxe myself, it's a great car!

Mine is a 3 month old red one. It's a no non-sense car: starts everytime, easy to park, moves you from point A to B, relatively fast (madaling isingit sa traffic kasi), tough on Manila roads, and quite eccentric as there are not too many on the road..

My old car was a V-6 '97 Cefiro Elite, nice car also but very expensive to maintain.

The ALTO is the kind of car you can maintain at the CASA all the way because it's dirt cheap - only 3 spark plugs and most likely 2++ liters of engine oil (though I have not changed both as I only have 3400 kms on my odometer todate.)

So go ahead - this is a very wise purchase, I will send you a pix of my car

    Hi Noel!

Where did u buy alloy wheels? I'm planning to replace mine when the tires eventually wear out. ok b un specs mo na oem 4" sa alto? pareho rin ng size ng tires pati thickness?

I got a white alto para mas mukhang malaki syang tingnan. I sold my old 1995 glxi lancer as downpayment. I now only consume P500 a week considering ang layo ng byahe ko Caloocan to Makati-Pasay then 2x caloocan to UP/Katipunan then weekends Nagtahan and Sto Domingo. So far 668kms pa lng milege ko.

    Kind regards,
    Ronald

    Hi Ronald,

I forgot the name of the shop where I bought my alloys - i will try to look for the receipt. Anyway, there are a lot of wheel retailers in Banawe where you can scout...

Mine were slightly used Suzuki alloys (branded/stamped), most likely its original owner traded it in as he found it "narrow" and upgraded to larger/wider rims.

I stuck with the original Size 13/4inch size because -

    1. I don't want to change my brand new stock 145/70 tires
    2. Anything larger/wider will pose a problem with your fender wells (sasayad or at the very least splash marks will splatter all over your car's body).

You may consider Size 13 5.0 inch rims as your limit as the 145/70 tires would have as its recommended width range of 4-5.5 inches.

    Best Regards
    Noel

To Knight Rider/Zhu 22/ and all other members of the Alto thread,

There is one more good thing about our ALTO and here it goes-

Last week's rains were extremely strong, I think we got the much needed answer to our dry spell. You know all too much the flooding in most Metro streets...now the question is how did my ALTO and yours fared in the deluded streets?

Surprisingly good, the good thing about our ALTOS is the ground clearance of 160 mm or about 6.2 inches from the ground which is not bad for a very small car, it is almost at par with bigger sedans like the Civic and the Altis on this area.

But please don't drive any of your cars in flooded areas, mine was just a nice revelation

    Cheers,
    Noel

    hi guys!

Great to hear your great experiences with the alto. Galing ng set up ng sounds mo bro! Ako un 4-way oblong pioneer speakers ko ok na sa akin sobrang lakas na nga eh hehehe. Gusto ko sana pwede i-connect sa mp3 player any advice guys?

Thanks for the advice too on driving on flooded streets Noel, I didnt drive much last week, pag ganyan sobrang ulan hirap kasing linisin ang white alto hehehe kaya mrt lrt muna ako. Lubog ang makati last week kaya commute lng muna.

Hope other alto owners will find our forum!

Have a great week ahead and God Bless!

    Hi Guyz!

Tama Si Knight Rider Kahit Walang Subwoofer And Amplifier Bastat naka 6x9 Na Speaker(better If Pioneer 4-way 460 Watts) Eh Babayo Na Sounds Mo! Our Jvc Stereo Can Provide The Sounds Better. Kahit Nga Mga "base" Na Sounds No Problem. Siguro At Least Mga 5k Din Aabutin. Guyz, If Your Planning To Add More Speakers I Recommend 4-way Na At Pioneer. Pag Naka Set-up Kana Don't Forget The Following. Press Select(hold It) Press Up And Down Arrow Go To L/o Mode And Select Rear By Turning The Knob Volume And Again Press Up And Down Arrow Select Amp Gain And Select "high" Then Press Display(read Also Jvc Manual) Tapos Na! One Thing For Sure Solve Kana Sa Sounds Ni Alto. Yung Kasing 2 Speaker Sa Harap Medyo Boring Lalo Na Pag Traffic. Anyways Next Month Eh "ber" Na Kaya Pag Me Savings Tayo Konti Wag Na Muna Upgrade Cellphone Speaker Muna Sa Likod!(joke Lang)

    Take Care.

    hello , po .
i had a test drive of a Suzuki Alto deluxe
at Pasong Tamo Showroom in Makati , last
Tuesday . It felt so good , the compactness ,
the newness , back to reality ( manual !) and
a feeling i'll soon get one ... the standard pala
has no caps on the wheels . how much does
this set costs kaya and can it fit smack on the
    standard 's ?
