How old was your 3 when you got it, sir? Did the transmission see any prior service? CVTs bought bnew, I presume?

Meron ba CVT umabot na past 500k like regular AT?

Ang point lang ni Trav, CVTs are not fully proven technology. The design of constant metal-to-metal friction is a design flaw on his engineering perspective. For regular AT it's only fluid friction in the torque converter and some clutch packs, there are less metal-to-metal contact that could wear. Even on MT's you will eventually replace the friction material(clutch or even flywheel) because they are wear/friction parts, but it costs less because the technology exist since the invention of a car.
Dapat siguro for consumer's peace of mind gawin wear item ang CVT belt, replace every n kms.

Great idea, sir![emoji106] Dealerships must be equipped & trained.

I guess you can compare the maximum speed specified for an AT car from a CVT to get an idea which transmission is more robust

Typical CVT max speed specification is 167kph..drive that transmission to 180kph and above for an extended period of time..expect the end of it soon

Can you share an article which states that a CVT tranny has maximum specified speed of 167kmh? It seems to be a bit low knowing that some cars with CVT has more than 150hp.

Even Subaru's non-turbo cars with CVT is rated up to 200 kmh. Some turbo Subies with CVT can go up to 250 kmh. Yung ASX I drove up to 180kmh but it seems it can do faster but the stock Yoko ASPEC tires seem to lose grip past that speed.

I drove flatout at SCTEX (NLEX Interchange to Floridablanca exit) and it was just around 15 minutes. I was doing between 160 to 200 with a short burst to 220. I have not done it again.

Fusion R only does a single cycle of drain and refill. That's what they do for their customers. You can pay them again if you want to do it twice but for that cost, you might as well do a full dialysis which requires 13L.

But then you’re going prolong the life of a CVT, it will be one more reason why you shouldn’t purchase a brand new car. Ayaw ng mga car companies yun. Less profit. 😂

Thing w/ full dialysis, OCD kicks in....haha. 1 has to be sure the equipment is evacuated of whatever fluid it previously serviced....I prefer drain & fill...twice or thrice w/ some good run in between...Insane, I know.[emoji16]

Regarding this "speed limit" of the CVT, alam ko din depende na ito sa design ng transmission. Dati walang Medium or High Torque CVTs kaya di nila kaya but nowadays nagdevelop na sila for larger engine sizes/power output.

Mas mahirap lang hanapin sa listahan mga Aisin transmission products kasi di lang CVT ginagawa nila. hehe.

If you do the dialysis at Motor Image, you'd be sure that your Subie will use the right fluid. Motor Image charges around 17k for the CVTF dialysis method.

Some groups in the US suggests another drain & refill with a month's interval after the first one. It would use up between 12 to 13 liters of CVTF for both process.

The jatco cvt7 jf015e on my mirage was designed for 150hp. The mirage only has 80 or so hp. I think it will do 150k kms just fine (with proper maintenance).

Why not DIY drain & fill?[emoji4][emoji106]
