Just replaced my front and rear brake pads with R-Spec brake pads, mukhang ok naman performance niya walang squeeks, di ko nga lang gusto yung blue color niya. Ang presyo niya ay 780.00 sa front at 700.00 sa rear.

Hey guys!

What's the normal life span of a car brake pads/brake shoes if driven about 580kms monthly? Is it good practice to replace it annually?

It all depends on how the driver steps on his brakes not by its kilometer readout.

Pag madalas ka naman umaapak, ie; riding your brakes, natural na mas madaling maupod ito. Or other kind of drivers which suddenly slams the brake pedal.

I wasted a set in less than 30 thousand kms. That was about a year's worth of driving on my Kia.

hindi po sya pwede i-measure sa KM or months..
better check your brake pads regularly kung manipis na or kung pwede pa...

I worn out a set of kevlar brake pads in 8000km. Metallic pads in 7000km.

Currently I'm doing an average of 8,000 to 10,000km per set of metallic brake pads.

i think u can visually check the pads just by looking at rims dba, ul see it if u know wat to look 4.

i was all ready to replace the front pads on my car (97 VTi) which has 65Tkm on the clock. but when i checked the original pads that came with the car when it was bought 6 years ago, the pads were still thick! at least 4mm thick pa!

On matic, after 12-14 months, kailangan nang magpalit. Tested and observed this on RAV4, Galant SS and Lancer...

wow! replacing pads after 8th kms is fast. you must drive hard!

when having pm done to your car, it can't hurt to have the mechanic check and clean your brakes

Medyo mahihirapan ka yata sa balak mong gawin, Ken. Dapat tanggal ang mags bago masisilip sa caliper kung gano kakapal pa ang natitirang pads. Kung drums naman ganun din, kailangan tanggalin ang goma muna bago ang drums.
