You may see them in some Shell service centers the reason is because G-Brake is being sold by the same distributor company that sells the infamous low quality VIC filter, this company is selling directly to Shell service centers and auto supplies. You may also notice that G-Brake is just a newly created brand in the market just like how the private company brands like the Circuit, Maruzen, Fast1, Kendo, New Tokico, New Toyo, NEC-Japan, Nesinbo, Yasika, and so much more super cheap low quality parts.

I seem to can not attach a photo of the comparison of G-Brake. I'll pm you instead.

I travelled fully loaded almost 600 kms to and fro our holiday destination last month during the long weekend and the project mu + oem combo heldup pretty good in long straightaways, mountain passes, and on roads you can barely call roads

With so many closecalls during that trip (tricycles suddenly emerging, reckless fuel trucks, etc), it proved to me and my passengers that brakepads are not areas for scrimping

My issues with Bendix brake pads is that if you compare them side by side with the OEM counterpart, their friction material ( the pad itself) is narrower such that it doest cover the whole brake rotor surface area that is covered by the OEM. While its true that it does not compromise braking power, it however, invites unwanted rusting (& sometimes pitting) on the rotor surface area not covered by the pad... The metal kings in particular, "eat" the covered area deeper leaving the uncovered area untouched resulting in uneven wear of the rotor. Depending on how deep the gouging is, some needs refacing when changing to a new pad...
Talking from first hand experience ....

Same experience bro, also if side by side mo siya cinompare with OEM brands like Advics, Akebono, and etc... makikita mo laki ng difference sa quality daming uneven area sa bendix hindi din slotted yung pad tapos nilagyan pa ng semi plastic-metal backplate instead yung orig na back plate ikabit mo. Tapos may mga spots sa pad material na hindi pantay na parang lubak tignan lalo na sa sides.

when i have my friction pads replaced, whatever they put in, works fine to me.
but i am sure, it's not car-brand nor the more expensive of the lot.

If you depend on mechanics for the brands of parts you put in your car then I'm sorry to say that you might be losing since most mechanics here are unscrupulous they choose the cheapest brands they could buy so that they can ask the shop they are buying from to put example P2000 on the receipt but the real price is just around P300~P500 the rest of the P1300~P1500 goes to the mechanic's pocket I have experienced this many times during purchasing from any parts store the mechanic's always wants to get a big portion of commission or side money, plus I always hear mechanic's saying they want the cheaper one or "baratong maganda" which means is fake branded parts so that their customer will come back sooner instead of using the original high quality one which will take years to break. They put P2000 on the receipt so that they have evidence to support that they bought your money with that part for the P2000 amount.

Sir how about Hyundai? Which brand has the best bite and least visible dust? KDM factory fitted pads were great but the OEMs available locally have a lot of dust, don't bite as well and are noisy. Been looking for KDM factory fitted pads but it seems nobody carries them.

Where do you buy locally? I bought mine sa Goodgear or sa Seiring di naman ma dust. Anyways, search mo sa FB TCG autoparts. They sell different kind of brakepads. I saw yung Hi-Q OEM daw ng Hyundai/Kia pati Chevy

Basically now there are only 3-4 OEMS in the market,

    Japanese
    1. Advics - Made in Taiwan or Outsourced from Taiwan for the aftermarket
    2. Akebono - Made in Japan
    3. Nissin - Made in Japan

    Korean
    1. Hi-Q - Made in Korea

    US
    1. TRW - Outsourced from China for aftermarket

    Replacement brand
    1. Bendix - Outsourced from Thailand and Malaysia factories
    2. Bosch - Outsourced from different countries

    Bad private company's brands
    1. LKC - Malaysia, Nesinbo(BLACK packaging) - Taiwan fake copy of Nisshinbo, Akebono(RED packaging) - Malaysia fake copy of Akebono, Optimum - Thailand, Rico - Made in China, R-spec - Taiwan and China
G-Brake - Outsourced from Taiwan or China, NiBK - Outsourced from China, Asuki - Outsourced in Taiwan or China.

Brands which have no mention of "COUNTRY OF ORIGIN" for example "MADE IN JAPAN", "MADE IN USA" on the packaging itself and label, you should stay away from this kinds of brands since they don't mention where the country of origin it is made in, how can you trace the manufacturer? If you encounter an accident from using their pads.

Hi-Q(Sangsin) brand ang major supplier ng Hyundai, if sila OEM then they know which materials formulated for the car itself and its rotors since Hyundai was the one who gave the specifications to Hi-Q(Sangsin)

Akebono brand ang major supplier naman ng Japanese cars/trucks like Toyota/Lexus, Nissan/Infiniti, Honda/Acura, Isuzu, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Suzuki & Daihatsu, American cars like GM, Chevy, Ford, Chrysler, Europe cars like Porsche & Mercedez Benz

Nissin brand ang major supplier ng Honda/Acura, and Honda motorcycles

Yung factory fitted pads ng KDM unit kasi sir walang dust halos. In contrast, the Hyundai OEM pads from casa's dust is like charcoal.

Will try Hi-Q next time, maybe that will make a difference. Thanks for the info.

Cooked my brakes today! The Civic's stock brakes couldn't handle 3 straight hot laps. 😂

Cost me my championship since everyone was running upgraded brakes and track tires, but fun experience nonetheless! There are really some things you need to upgrade to maximize track performance. But 3rd and 2nd ain't bad.

It stopped raining so my brakes were heating up tremendously every lap especially as I didn't have engine braking to rely on.

Nice hehe. How are your rotors bro? What gave first, the pads or the fluid? Maybe use dot 5.1 brake fluid next time.

Rotors are fine bro, thankfully. Pads heated up resulting to brake fade but returned back to normal after cooling down. Fluid seems to have boiled as the pedal felt spongy after many consecutive laps - can't say for sure if I have air in my lines now as the brakes were working fine on the trip back home.

Bendix Mintex of Australia has a joint venture with Honeywell Bendix of the USA. Most pads we get here are from Australia. Some Honeywell Bendix pads from the US are manufactured in China. I've tried both from Oz & those from the US which are China-made. For the same pad specs, they behaved similarly.
I'm not sure if the China ones sold in the US are the ones meant as fake here...they really are not.
