apparently parang sa thailand yata iba yung principle nila sa snorkels hehe...yung mga duma dive na Triton sa waistdeep na putikan you will rarely see na may snorkel hehe...well siguro iba naman yun talaga compared sa river crossing or any terrain na may mataas na tubig kaya di sila naglalagay ng snorkel...

But didn't it come to your mind sir that even though large amounts of air is coming through the snorkel...It may disrupt the proper Air and fuel mixture of the Combustion? or the engine has the ability to adjust the fuel amount being injected depending on the air coming in through the snorkel?

pasensya na sir...medyo hindi ko lang po talaga kabisado yung mga bagay pagdating dyan hehe...Which I think you are knowledgeable po So I might just take the chance on asking you...

May intake valves naman ang engine that open and close, actually its a 4 cycle cumbustion process I think, that will control the flow of air. I think what you are referring to is yung malulunod sa hangin, hindi naman siguro. para malunod sa hangin ang engine you'll need to upgrade your turbo and retain the original setting for the fuel supply. But very rare yata mangyari yun, over supply ng fuel yun lang ang nagawa ko... hehehe

ahh I see sir...thanks sa info!

A reputable shop will advise you if you need to. Kung mag upgrade ka kasi ng turbo ng strada mo, i totono or tune yung best balance air fuel ratio to yield the most power.

Just wondering.... the way i understand it kasi with regards sa mga cold air intake eh beneficial siya for NA but for Force induction system eh ok lang maski hindi since it has an intercooler thats main purpose is to cool the air that came from the blower... kasi diba maski cold air ang pumapasok sa snorkel mo at dadaan din naman ito sa turbo which is hot at dadaan din naman sa intercooler palalamigin parin niya yung hangin.

just take for example yung mga evo or iba pang mga auto na nka turbo mostly nakakabit sa kanila mga filter na mushroom type like HKS sa loob lang din ng engine bay and not outside.

im just new with trucks pero for me sa tingin ko ang snorkel eh talagang para sa mga river crossing or yung mga tipong laging malulubloob ang pick up/truck mo sa tubig.. sa tingin ko that is its main purpose....

kasi by looking at the stock air intake din ng strada you will notice na nasa pinaka harap din siya just below the hood. so more or less cold air din ang nasasagap nito and not just ambient temp ng engine bay....

though pag may snorkel ka din poging pogi ka.... hehehe

Snorkels are not go fast goodies actually, parang by-product lang sya because naka tutok sya sa harap. Though meron ding paso type. Yung cold air from the snorkel konti lang yung lamig nun... its just a matter of ramming as much air in the engine as possible at speed.

for me, the real use of the snorkel is for those severe river crossings as to not drown the engine, added benefit na yung more cool air into the chamber plus the dagdag macho points that a snorkel brings to an already macho pickup in the form of the strada. to each his own nalang....

here's the pic of the strada with the snorkel installed. for those interested i can introduce you to the importer, a really nice guy...
