Update on the K&N drop-in filter install (installed during 10K+ milleage; current milleage is 18K+):

Notice the dust on the pointed area sa Mass Air Flow Sensor. Compromise on filtering in exchange for efficiency. Bawi nalang sa regular change ng good oil and oil filter. Fleetguard or Baldwin na to. Hehe.

    Bai doy,

Is that the accumulated dust after using for 8k km with K&N filter? I need to closely monitor mine as i'm using hurricane filter (with less filtering ability than stock and K&N). Just installed the hurricane today on my 20k km PMS and the improvement in torque was felt immediately.

I believe it's due to the K&N. The stock paper filter was a bit clean and white on the upper part when I replaced it with K&N. Improvement on throttle response and torque was also observed even at 10K+ milleage. Will clean the filter at 60K+ milleage for better filtration (para every 50K-mileage ang cleaning as opposed to the suggested 70K-mileage cleaning for city driving). I believe others clean every 15-20K.

    Anyone tried blocking their EGR?

Any problems with the car's diagnostic computer after the block?

Interested in blocking mine or installing an EGR delete pipe (kung available dito sa atin).

AFAIK not advisable for CRDi and EC controlled cars. Only for old school type of engine (some okay, some say bad experience). Other have tried and check engine light turns on.

Yup, I read that a member got a blown turbo after blocking the EGR. Hmm.. Pa-cleaning nalang siguro ako sa casa dito every 20K mileage. Around P800 daw ang charge with around 2 hours working time. Baka mabawasan na ng oil catch tank ang carbon deposits. Dapat sa 15K pa ako nagpa-cleaning. Outside casa na kase ako nagpa-service after the 10K mileage. I-frequent ko nalang din ang "spirited" driving.

had my 20k km PMS the other day and only the mechanic trainee removed the EGR with the supervision of the senior mechanic. di naman masyado matrabaho ang pagtanggal as long as you know the job, meaning di super critical. mabuti kasi yong trainee kalmado at dahan dahan tinanggal ang part. did not see him slip his wrench on the bolts.

Sa Fast Autoworld Phils. Corp. - Cagayan de Oro. Every 15K daw dapat ang EGR cleaning. Still trying to find a shop here na competent sa EGR cleaning sa units natin. Baka mas affordable pa ang service. Kadalasan blank faces kasi pagtanong ko. Will try shops that specialize on engine performance upgrades and frequently join races. Baka ok sila.

Actally sa 4d56 ms madali tanggalin EGR, puwede i-DIY once makita mo mechanic na gawin yun. You just need gasoline and brush for cleaning. Every 1oK na lang niyo linisin, kunti pa lang yan esp if may OCC pa kayo.

Will try to research more on it sa Australian Triton forums. Baka kaya ng acrobatic moves. Hehe. Actual EGR cleaning rate is P739.20 as per message from Mitsubishi Ozamis branch manager (& my cousin).

Kailangan na tanggalin ang 20" emblem sa sides. Ok din siguro kung i-matte black nalang ang front chin para uniform sa stepbar at wheels. Para din ma-emphasize ang lifted look. Yellow na yellow ang airhorn natin ah.

    Sir,

I am new here! I read many threads about modification of Strada in this forum which is also my interest. I would like to share or learn about modifications. We just got our 2011 Strada 4x4 3.2 MT 6 months ago. We had installed GSR sports lid and all alpine sound setup with chromes accessories added. Now I am planning to replace the stock tire 245/70/17 with 265/70/17 size.

Sir "The Patriarch / G01", please advise if Cooper Discoverer S/T Maxx 265/70/17 is best size for strada pickup. I already phoned up Ryco Makati and quoted me 12,805/tire. I have learned that ST Maxx is composite of 50% on-road and 50% off-road. We use our Strada mostly in highways.

Also I enquired at Auto Option on MT ATZ Radial Plus cost 13,300/tire but not very much like the sidewall design. I would prefer the MT ATZ Tranditional model which has a sidebitter.

I am interested also to join the TSCP but since I am OFW working here in Kuwait I can't attend the EB schedule to formally join the club. Hoping

I would highly appreciate your advise.

    Thanks,
    Strada3200

    Sir Wingman,

I am newly registered in this forum. What size is your ST Maxx? I'd like to buy also ST Maxx 265/70/17 to replace my Strada3200 stock tire 245/65/17. I'm on leave for 3 weeks this coming March 30, 2012 and hope I could modify my tire with ST maxx. I'd like to seek your advise if the ST Maxx 265/70/17 would fit my strada3200 stock mags 17x7.5JJ.

    Many thanks,
    Strad3200
