^^ mbala will play in season 78 pa (if i understand the rules correctly). same with the african recruits of ateneo.
you're right though, dlsu will still be a formidable team w/ or w/o him next season

It was a good run (ampch... 5 years ba naman. It's going to be the first time my younger daughter will actually not attend a victory bonfire in her entire life). The team fought hard in all their games but came short and the important lesson her is that one is graceful in defeat just as well;As the Athlete's Prayer goes: "...to stand by the road and cheer as the winner goes by". Kudos to UST and good luck to the teams in the Final 4.
It's been a tumultuous season that began even before the 5-peat bonfire was lighted and dropping out of the Final 4 for the first time since 1998 should bring back that thirst for victory to Loyola. Time to rebuild.
Tanggal na kaya si Bo next season?

^ i don't think so. everyone in loyola heights was resigned to the fact that perasol inherited a less than stellar team as compared to the 5peat teams (when everyone else in the league simultaneously retooled to deny ateneo the 6peat).
given that factoid, i think this time around he'll be given the freehand to do the recruiting chores any which way he can (w/in limits of course) and ultimately mold a team w/ his own vision in mind.
^ ^ ^ Yup, just like in any other school,- the Alumni is a big hand behind.....

The guy deserves the time to recruit and rebuild according to his own program. Tama si Baludoy that he inherited a relatively sub-par team at the same point that the other teams are getting their programs into overdrive (particularly, NU). Norman Black needed three years to get the 5-peat run started and there was a point where people also wanted his head on the chopping board. The question to ask first is whether Ateneo would want to see the Bo Perasol program built or would they rather get another coach with a different basketball plan? Of course even before Bo Perasol was drafted, a lot of Ateneans wanted a true blue at the helm of the coaching staff.
In his defense, ang mahirap kay Bo is that he inherited a team and system with such high expectations coming from a 5-peat. Anything less than a championship would be a disappointment. Literally and figuratively, he had very big shoes to fill.
On the other side of the coin, his personality and system does not seem to suit Ateneo. He does not have the Ateneo school spirit and/or the players do not seem to be inspired by him.
You can see it in the eyes, tigers wanted it more. I mean except for that run Sa 3rd quarter parang walang buhay Ateneo.
Eye of the tiger.

Sad ako, talo ADMU. But ganun talaga, you win a lot, you lose some.
Next year mas mahihirapan sila IMHO but next-next year makakabawi na yan. OBF!
dapat maging fair ateneo community kay perasol...give him a chance to redeen himself...kahit anong galing ng coach kung kulang ang materials hinde talaga mag champion
pucha swerte ng coach ng UP next season, isang panalo lang, big achievement na
I agree, Coach Bo should be given at least 3 years. Kapag wala talaga, bago palitan.
