    I don't know if luma na pero napatawa lang ako ng mabasa ko kagabi....

    ust, adamson, dlsu, & ue boycott uaap women's swimming competition events where fighting maroon mikee bartolome was set to compete

    De La Salle University, University of Santo Tomas, University of the East, and Adamson opted not to participate in the categories where Mikee Bartolome, who successfully petitioned for a TRO to allow her to swim for the University of the Philippines, was fielded, leaving only Ateneo de Manila University as UP's opposition.

    Kagaguhan naman kasi yang residency rule na yan.

    The universities act as if they are professional teams with athletes on contract.

    The student must be given the freedom to pick her/his university without any threats or possible intimidation from her high school.

    My kids will never go to DLSU, UST, UE, and/or Adamson.

    Statement from Senator Pia Cayetano on the boycott of some UAAP schools of some of the swimming events where Mikee Bartolome is competing for UP: "I condemn the boycott instigated by certain school officials at the UAAP swimming competitions in support of the UAAP Board's brazen refusal to abide by the court rulings affirming Mikee Bartolome's right to swim in the school of her choice.

    "There's nothing to gain from the boycott, except to send the message that the UAAP is too high and too proud to take orders from anyone, including from our honorable courts, even if they trample on the rights of student-athletes.

    "By preventing the student-athletes from openly competing and showcasing their talents, the UAAP leadership is proving that promoting the dev't of the student-athletes is not their priority. Instead they would prefer to create a culture of protectionism in support of their narrow institutional interests.

    "Sabotaging the swimming competitions will not resolve this issue. Now, not only Mikee but the rest of the student swimmers as well are suffering from the UAAP leadership's intransigence.

    "This is a sad sad day in Philippine sports."
    the bartolome kid already paid her dues to her old high school by passing all the required academic requirements and more significantly by bringing glory to her alma mater via the 10 gold medals (19 assorted medals all in all) she won in her 4 loyal years of stay there. what else is there to give and what else is there she's being obligated to do?

    an athlete's shelf life is so fleeting and yet these educators are dead set on taking away 2 years of their hard earned competitive lives because of a sense of ownership. that's definitely something to chew on even if it leaves a bad, bad taste in our mouths

    Inabutan ko pa si Danny I, last year nila ni Tugade iirc. DLSU/FEU nung time nila ang malakas eh, kaya wala din silang championship. Danny I dominated Mark Telan in college kaso mas complete line-up nang ibang teams talaga.
