    metformin makes your body more sensitive to insulin

    pag pre-diabetic ka metformin can keep you from developing full-blown diabetes or at least delay it

    pag full-blown diabetic ka na metformin is no longer effective. you have to take another class of drug which makes your pancreas secrete more insulin. bad trip yan coz you're at risk of blood sugar falling too low naman. and weight gain is a side effect of that class of drug

    diabetes is a high maintenance disease kaya habang maaga try to prevent or delay it

    sa media puro low fat low fat sh*t

    nasa cholesterol ang focus

    takot sa cholesterol mga tao pero di takot sa masamang effect ng high blood sugar

    Pero kung papipiliin ako na eliminate sa diet eh wheat.

    Try nyo lang elimination diet. Subukan nyo 1 month wala wheat kung kamusta pakiramdam at magpablood test.

    Tapos sa sunod naman 1 month wala kanin puro bread naman means of sugar. Diyan nyo malalaman kung saan magreact body.

    At sa low-fat diet lalo kayo magkakasakit.

    Kailangan katawan natin ng fat. Especially saturated fat.

    Pansinin nyo mga doctor kung ano specialization nila yun din sakit. Mabibilang mo lang cardiologist na lumagpas na 60 years old. Tigok din sa heart disease.

    find out if your blood sugar is high for the past 3 months mag pa-test ng hba1c

    if your result is above 5.7% pre-diabetic ka na

    pag 6.5% diabetic ka na

    like i said white rice, white bread, refined sugar --- yan ang mga nakakataas ng blood sugar

    ang pinoy 3 times a day mag rice... extra rice pa or unli-rice

    merienda tinapay, pansit, biscuit puro made of wheat and sugar

    kape 3-in-1 (sugar), softdrinks (sugar), juice (sugar)

    wtf

    talaga nag i-invite ng diabetes ang pinoy

    pero ano naririnig natin sa mga "expert"? don't eat pork, beef, eggs, etc

    You don;t take blood test after few hours of eating dapat after 8-10 hours para accurate. That explains why it's freaking you out. Don;t worry, your blood sugar level is very normal & safe. Just enjoy your chocolates which i did as well when i was young as in i eat a bar of choco before sleeping.

    I dream of maintaining a low carb diet (only carbs from vegetables and fruits). I barely eat rice or bread but I love chocolates which is worse We only have brown or red rice at home for about 8 years now. Because of my diabetes scare titigilan ko na talaga chocolate Problem ko lang what will I snack on when I am hungry na low carb.

    I read kasi some people take it 2 hours after eating to see how the body reacts to sugar. But I really hope I am not diabetic. Sa sobrang takot ko napa treadmill ako kanina! I made sure I stayed in the fat burning heart rate kahit parang hihimatayin na ko

    8 to 10 yung fasting blood sugar

    2 hours yung post prandial (after meal)

    tama si Cathy -- blood sugar test 2 hours after meal to find out if your body is able to process the carbs effectively

    the blood sugar of healthy non-diabetics can go back to baseline 2 hours after meal

    pero pag diabetic ka it will remain high... kaya kahit after 8 to 10 hours di pa normal

    so isipin mo kung ang FBS mo above 120 ano kaya blood sugar level mo 2 hours after meal

    That probably explains why my Mom has a really hard time losing weight though she eats so little. But now she lost weight by eating 4 pieces of tawilis for lunch. OMG! Kaya ako maging diabetic it is indeed high maintenance
