Thanks dr! I am going back to the gym next week! Tomorrow I will start using my treadmill that's been gathering dust. I've had several diabetes scares over the years (I am very paranoid given my history) but I think now my symptoms are more solid It really sucks to have bad genes. But I really hope I am not diabetic. I will have myself checked alone because I don't want to stress out my family if they find out that I am sick.
My cousin had diabetes when she was 30 ata. It looks like it was caused by working on graveyard. Sinisingil na ata ako ng pagpupuyat ko I had one Uncle and one Aunt that died of diabetes too.

Tumaas BP ko, nagp-general check-up ako. Mataas na sugar count pala dahilan. Now I'm taking metformin twice a day. So technically malapit na ako talagang maging diabetic.
I think I should go back to the good doctor to ask if kelangan pa din maintenance metformin kung hindi na din mataas BSL ko.

June 30th, 2014 09:41 PM #43a classic definition of diabetes is when the sugar level reaches 200 mg%, regardless of patient preparation.
100 and below is "normal".
anything in between, is "impaired glucose tolerance", which, to me, is just a nice way of saying pre-diabetes.
high blood sugar.. hypertension.. heart disease.. these are components of the relatively new entity known as "metabolic syndrome". simply said, all these diesases are related...

^ yung last annual med exam ko nga eh... 5 points na lang borderline na sugar level ko...
All i had to do was limit rice and watch what i eat... After a month nag ok na after ng follow up na sugar test... May bonus pa kasi nabawasan ng 3 inches waistline ko
The major diet change ko nun is no rice sa gabi as much as possible

Cathy, go see your doctor. The gym isn't the solution, just part of it.

There was a time na tubig ko eh Coke. Not knowing anything about diabetes, not realizing that when both side of the family have diabetes eh malaki chance magka diabetes.
Nasisi ko pa parents ko noon ng malaman ko may diabetes ako, they never warned me. Alam nila both side of family have history and alam nila lakas ako mag Coke. Anyway I only knew what really is diabetes when I realized I have it.
Kaya ngayon I share my knowledge Sa mga anak ko, lagi ko pinapaalalahanan about diabetes, what it is, that both their parents side have it, what they need to do, how to eat right. Things that my parents never thought me while growing up.

July 1st, 2014 08:49 AM #50Nagtataka lang ako why yung mga magsasaka ng palay healthy naman. I stayed with a farming family for a week before, sobrang lakas sa kanin, pero mukhang hindi naman diabetic. Yung patriarch nila mga 70 na pero nalakapagsaka pa rin.
diabetes is one of the illnesses i'm really scared of. i've seen so many diabetics deteriorate physically as they age in the local tennis scene i frequent. pero ang sarap talaga kumain ng kanin eh kaya kelangan talaga sunugin na lang ang mga carbsLast edited by baludoy; July 1st, 2014 at 08:52 AM.
