But Mainland China was not even in this Jones Cup. What they have is Republic of China (aka Taiwan) What's Asia's best without the PEOPLE's REPUBLIC?

Sa Wuhan, China ang next assignment nila.....FIBA-Asia Championship. Lone berth is at stake for the 2012 Olympics.

next stop is a pocket tournament in Qatar on Aug. 24.. kung tapos na pba finals.. then alapag, williams and de ocampo will join the team..

tapos ang final stop ay yung FIBA Asia on Sept. 15 to 25.. hopefully makaabot tayo nang semis then pag sinwerte.. finals!

At the FIBA-Asia Championships in Wuhan next month, the Philippines is bracketed in Group D with China, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates. Gilas should advance to the second round with China and the Emirates, leaving Bahrain behind. Gilas, China and Bahrain then join Group C survivors Jordan, Japan and Syria (leaving out Indonesia). The top four move on to the knockout quarterfinals and they will likely be China, Gilas, Jordan and Japan. Gilas could face either Qatar or Korea in the quarterfinals. If the Philippines wins, it enters the semifinals against China, Iran or Lebanon.

this one i cannot really understand

why are we training a national team to be number 3?????? :screwloose:

if i am to hire a foreign coach and throw money into the program, i want the team to aim for number one

unfortunately, in the olympic qualifier, number 2 or 3 does not count
