    too bad gilas but 4th place is not good enough no matter paano nyo i-benta yan

    agree! huwag ng at least naka 4th place. the earlier na tanggapin mas maganda. TALO! yun lang...it's either panalo or talo,. nag qualify or hinde. hinde na kailangan ng consolation price.

    same old, same old. miss universe 4th place, FIba 4th place. pero parang panalo kung umasta.

    sa totoo lang, the old team of chip engelland et al, who were great shooters, had a better chance at the FIBA asia championships.

    they were not that tall but their outside shooting was consistent

    Nobody remembers second place especially kung hindi maka-qualify. Wahhhhh!!!

    tama... yun ang dapat nilang i-practice. tignan nyo yung mga free throws nila nung mga last seconds panay sablay. may pagasa pa sana tayo nun kung na-shoot lang nila.

    buti na rin yan 4th place tayo.. para hindi na maghihirap sa preparation for the qualifying next year.. at siguradong di naman tayo lulusot don.. at least tapos na..

    wala ng torneo aasahan ang gilas kundi yung pang barangay nalang

    at hindi rin sila puedeng mag guest team sa PBA at halos lahat ng players nila nandoon na

    so its curtains for gilas

    maghanap nalang ng bagong bansa si toroman

    ganun din eh after 2 years yun mga bagong players nila mag PRO so balik nanaman, so hihiraman nanaman ng PBA players.

    so next international tourney eh PBA selection na lang and naturalized player. yun mga malalaki kunin nila mga PBa players yun mga pandekok huwag na...

    ang preparation, 2 months before world championships, hihiram pa ng players sa PBA.......

    dapat, ang maging players natin dedicated na sa gilas, hindi yung puro pba ang nasa isip nila.
    at tapatan na rin ng gilas yung salaries, para di na mag-isip pang mag pba ang mga amateurs natin.
    kaya naman ni ninang MVP eh......

    parang ganon na din nga.. tinapatan na din ni MVP yung sweldo.. nag PRO pa din lahat nang players except for TIU.. long term din kasi siguro iniisip nung mga players.. kasi nga naman habang bata sila nasa gilas.. eh pano pag after 6 years.. wala na silang pupuntahan.. di na sila uubra sa PBA..

    yung ibang country ganon din naman.. mga PRO din sa kanila yung mga players nila.. tapos 2 months before tournament.. tsaka lang nag pra practice.. dapat ganon na lang talaga.. kumuha nang mga talagang shooters... from both amateur and pro.. di na kailangan nang dedicated team kasi hindi naman talaga ideal yung ganon sa long term.. specially sa mga players.. lugi sila..

    ^wala rin eh yun mga "shooters" natin mga bansot pa rin...6'1"-6'2" yun MVP natin si "man with a million moves" eh hinde makaporma sa international tournament dahil 6'6"-6'8" ang bantay... height is might talaga eh.

    isa pang example yun si Chris Tiu, shooting guard daw eh takot naman tumira...and bansot din...

    hinde rin naman matangkad si Caidic eh 6'1"-6'2" rin yan. if he's playing now against the bigger opponents hinde na rin uubra yun. before magaling talaga and shooter dahil bopols pa mga kalaban natin. but he's one if not the best shooter Phil ever produced.

    Wag naman kawawain mga players natin, I'm sure masama na rin pakiramdam ng mga yun. Sure they choked against Korea but they still managed to finish 4th despite the height disadvantage. Could they have done it without Douthit? No. But other teams even in Europe are naturalizing players to fill up weaknesses in the team. Could they have made a better roster selection? Maybe. But di naman pwedeng lahat ng malalaki natin ilagay sa team dahil kahit sino ilagay natin mas malaki yung mga kalaban. Pretty sure defense and speed were the primary concerns. Sablay lang sa scoring, takot lahat halos tumira. If they made a couple of free throws against Korea malay natin baka nanalo.

    Pero agree ako, lets not celebrate 4th as if we won the thing. Ganun na din kasi tayo sa mga beauty pageant.

    hehe, beauty contests are subjectie kasi, makapasok ka lang sa last five puwede na magyabang at mag-claim (rightfully or not) na dapat siya nanalo.

    Unlike basketball, (unless may sobrang controversial call) objective pa rin, more scores means you win! hehe
