parang labo yata ng quote ni tmac ah...i have the new ball and it's much more grippy than the old leather ball (i have one of those too). maliit lang ang kamay ko so i still can't palm the new ball comfortably, but it's much easier than the leather ball, which talagang two hands ko lang siya ma-control.

but he's the pro - who am i to contradict?

Gil Arenas in his never-ending quest to remain the most likeable cat in the Association, revealed what it takes for some people to get an invite to All-Star weekend. He admitted that in his first year with the Wizards, he bribed employees at a sporting goods store (with shoes and a basketball) in order to get his hands on a box of All-Star ballots. Dude then went ahead and filled them all out, putting his name alongside those of teammates Antawn Jamison and Larry Hughes. Gangsta.

According to Arenas, he’s not the only one who does this sort of thing:

“I heard there’s players out there that do that,” Gil said, non-jokingly. “Like, some of the guys who get voted in. Like, they paid the city to bring all the ballots. I heard back in the day they used to do that, too. It would be players, they used to have backpacks and they’d be pushing them in to Foot Locker. I heard it’s always been like that. Like, old players would tell me, ‘Yeah, what’s-his-name used to do that, he’d be in his house and he’s out there filling them out. His wife, his friends, he’d bring his friends down here, pay ‘em, they’d be out there filling ‘em out. Then there’s just truckloads to the Foot Locker to make sure they still was there. I’m like, ‘Oh that’s funny. That is hilarious.’”

I wonder who some of those ballot-stuffing guys could be. It’s probably not any of the top tier players (Yao for example); they have more than enough support at home and abroad. I’m guessing it would have to be someone marginal, someone like oh I don’t know, Derrick Coleman?

masakit daw po sa daliri yung new microfiber ball esp. po pag pawis ka na kasi po ang hirap i-grip. unlike po sa leather in which pag na-"break-in" na po yung bola, swabe na at madaling "matancha" yung shoot at dribble, yung new microfiber mejo iba rin po ang "pakiramdam" nya pag tumama na sa board parang mejo "madikit" ng konti compared sa old school balls. pag straight-out-of-box mas maganda po yung microfiber pero in due time mejo humihirap syang pakiramdaman.

The Miami Heat coach began an indefinite leave of absence Wednesday because of hip and knee problems, choosing assistant Ron Rothstein to fill his spot on an interim basis.

Is Riley bailing out on his team? I think he should trade Walker and Williams or Payton to bring in a 3rd scorer to the team. As it is, they have no one on the roster who can be their go to guy after Shaq and D Wade. If things continue to spiral downward come February, don't be surprised if Riley brings out the TNT and declare this season to be a wash for the defending champs. Looks like he'll be rebuilding mode.

I don't think he is bailing out... injuries more than anything else crippled this team. No Shaq, no Wade = no wins. Question is, whos gonna take Walker's and Posey's massive contract?

BTW, Posey's a thug, did you see the way he took out Deng, he basically throwed him to the floor.

Yep. The injuries are a bummer for Miami. For one, there's no guarantee Shaq will make them better once he returns. His conditioning will be off and he'll be lumbering all around the court. I'd try and trade for an Earl Watson (to give some security at their PG rotation) and get a 3 in the mold of a Corey Maggette who is good and athletic enough to play the 2 spot whenever D Wade needs a blow and come out of the game. Do something Riles!
