Marion suffered an injury which would've prevented him from joining the team. Not sure if its a leg or back injury though.

This will be further trimmed down to a 12-man roster for the games in Japan starting on Aug 18. The other guys like Pierce, Reddick, Kobe, Marion, Morrison, Oden and Ridnour can be tapped back to bolster the team if any eventuality happens along the way. Any of the the 25 pre-selected including Oden may see action in 2008 depending on Colangelo or the players' availability.

i don't like the Brad Miller pick. we need some monsters in the paint to intimidate people, not a weakling midrange shooter.

i guess Mike K is going to use either a Princeton/Sac Kings style motion offense, a PHX-style run-and-gun, or some kind of combination.

miller will stretch the defense with his outside shooting and draw the opposing centers to play him outside. inside players like brand will then have their way inside. plus with slashers like lebron and wade, a passing center would be nice. just my two cents.

FXT: Issue ko lang (i guess same with M54) is that foreign centers are used to playing outside/non-physical games, so having a midrange shooter with low footspeed that can't bang will basically reduce the US' ability to bang the centers of the other nations...
