Confirmed na to??? Ngek wala nang star ang Boston hehe, buti nalang mahiina yung division...
BTW, may katinuan din pala tong si Stephon
Stephon Marbury broke down. In a heartfelt display, the tough-guy Knicks' guard began sobbing at a news conference Tuesday in New York City to announce his personal pledge of $500,000 to $1 million to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
"I just think about my kids, about my son," Marbury said, dressed in a suit and tie, while being overcome by tears throughout his two-minute speech. "You want something so bad. You see little babies floating in the river. It's amazing. It's amazing these people are still just going [on]. You complain about the little things. But we're just so fortunate to breathe and walk knowing all of this is going on."
The image of NBA stars might not be the greatest these days, but the reaction of Marbury and others has shown a human side to these modern-day gladiators not often seen. Even cynics who point out Marbury stands to make $16.4 million this season would agree his contribution is generous. Lakers star Kobe Bryant and Mavs forward Alan Henderson have each pledged $100,000. Former Hornets guard Baron Davis, now with the Warriors, has contributed $60,000. Bulls guard Chris Duhon, a native of Slidell, La., has given $30,000.
These individual donations are in addition to efforts being coordinated by the league and its teams who have committed $2 million. The Players Association has committed another $2.5 million. The Bucks organization got together to raise $500,000 themselves.

Part of the NBA's heartfelt response no doubt stems from the fact that many players come from the South. The Players Association estimates 20 of its 400 members had homes in the Gulf Coast areas hit hardest by Katrina. Countless others had family in the area. Hornets forward P.J. Brown lost a home in Slidell.
But these NBA efforts, sadly, will only do a small part to relieve the wide-scale suffering. They also might be among the last ties the league has to the Big Easy. Hurricane Katrina probably signals a death knell to pro hoops in New Orleans. If the NFL Saints are considered likely to pull up and relocate -- San Antonio could be their new full-time home -- the Hornets stand no chance.

, but MJ can bring the Bulls sa playoffs with no great role players (remember the 63-point double overtime performance ni Jordan vs. Larry Bird and the Celtics in Boston Garden!!?) Jordan is still coming off from an injury-plagued season during that time(played only the last 18 games of the season by that time) Kobe, as seen last season with no Shaq, may Caron Butler at Lamar Odom pa nun, di man lang nakatungtong ng playoffs!! at eto pa, bumaba pa ang individual stats nya last year compared with his previous seasons with Shaq!! 2-12 ang Lakers last season when Kobe scored 40+ points!!! he he he
