well, volleyball is now the #2 sport in the country so viable option din siya. aside from basketball, it's the only sport w/c can fill local stadiums w/ warm bodies on a regular basis . and fans of volleyball players seem to be more fanatics than their basketball player counterparts. as in the likes of alyssa valdez and bea de leon need bodyguards pa to do crowd control for them. sa basketball wala naman ganyan na.

and volleyball is one of three sports in the nation w/c are now exporting or have exported import players to thai, taiwanese, and japanese vball leagues(both men's and women's). the other export producing imports sports are football and basketball - of course.

ang problema lang sa philippine volleyball ay ang sports leaders nila ay nagbabangaan. isipin niyo 2 ang liga sa vball pero konti lang ang top flight players natin sa ngayon. even the selection of national team players is stinking w/ politics and powerplays

Ang basketball player hindi kailangan ng bodyguard kasi lalake yan na batak mga katawan na kaya protectahan sarili.

Sa volleyball player umiiwas sa chansing. Baka meron manlamas ng dede or sundutin yung pwet. Ang iksi kasi ng shorts baka may manyak ilusot yung daliri. Naalala ko yan nung early 2000 ata yun international volleyball players sa brazil ang gaganda. Meron pa isang bansa mga chicks talaga. Gwardiyado.

Tingnan ko nga itsura yang volleyball players sinasabi mo kung deserving ba magbodyguards.

Then there is this video about the shoving during warm-up.. They said Kickert shoved the gilas players during warm-up. But another angle showed a gilas player (i think Abueva) trying to trip Kickert that provoked him and made him shove the wrong player (Wright).

Alam nyo ayaw ko si yeng guiao kasi pasigaw-sigaw pamura-mura, nampapahiya sa players nya eh mga professionals na yan buti sana kung collegiate, highschool or elementary pa. At ayaw ko din kinocondone nya mga balyador nya si belga at kinyahan na meron talaga intend to hurt.

NLEX coach Yeng Guiao criticized the behavior of the Australian team in a fight-marred Fiba Basketball World Cup Asian qualifier against Gilas Pilipinas, saying the visitors have no one to blame but themselves.

Guiao, a former national coach, said the Australians have no one to blame but themselves after the fracas that led to 13 ejections, nine from the home side, and left the Boomers at the receiving end of blows from both players and fans.

The NLEX coach also had no problem with the retaliation of the Gilas players.

“I think mas nakakahiya kung pinabayaan natin ‘yung player natin na ginanoon na lang na wala tayong ginawa sa sarili nating bansa,” said Guiao. “Normal reaction ‘yung magagalit ka talaga.”

Guiao also took exception to the statement of Australia assistant coach and former NBA player Luc Longley accusing Gilas coach Chot Reyes of inciting the players in a timeout, moments before the brawl.

Guiao said the Australians set the tone for the controversial ending to the match when they removed the decals from court during practice on the eve of the match without bothering to seek permission from their hosts.

“The Australians are looking for someone to blame,” Guiao told PBA reporters on Wednesday. “Ang dapat i-blame ay ‘yung Australians who are really, I think, looking for trouble.

“The tone was set the day before when they were already ripping the decals without any permission. I coached the national team, I would never do that coming into any venue. And you have to respect, whatever you say,” said Guiao.

Guiao also believes Australia should apologize because Kickert triggered the brawl.

“What Gilas players did was, to me, a natural human instinct in that situation. Actually, ako, I think it’s the Australians who need to apologize, not Gilas, because it’s Kickert’s action that started the whole thing,” Guiao said.

Reyes was criticized by Longley for inciting the brawl by telling his players to “hit somebody” during a timeout.

Guiao begged to differ.

“I don’t believe in Luc Longley saying it’s Chot Reyes (who's to blame). Chot Reyes, wala namang ginawa si Chot. ‘Yung sinabi niya, well that’s debatable but what Kickert did was the trigger of everything.

To me, what’s more embarrassing was that if Kickert did that in front of our countrymen with us hosting, and didn’t suffer any consequences after doing that, to me, ‘yun ang nakakahiya na nandito ka sa Pilipinas, binagsakan ka ng siko ng napakalaking tao, kung ‘yun ang naging kapatid ko, naging tatay mo, ‘yun ang naging anak mo, kahit na ‘yung aso ko ginanun niya, makakatikim ‘yun sa akin,” said Guiao

“Kickert, I think, started it all and he didn’t even apologize. What he only said what it was regrettable. And all he said was it’s unfortunate. But he almost killed somebody and he didn’t apologize. Sa akin kapag hindi ka nagalit doon, hindi ka normal.

“Ako, nagpapaka-totoo lang ako na I don’t think it’s Chot Reyes’ fault. It’s Kickert’s fault, he started it and the bad thing about it is our Gilas players were profusely apologizing for what happened. The guy who started this never apologized. He was only saying it was regrettable and unfortunate,” said Guiao.

Guiao, however, said the sight of fans joining the fray and attacking the Australian players musn't be condoned.

“I will not justify that. Mali talaga ‘yun. I agree, mali ‘yun. Siguro ‘yung burst of emotion after that, na-awat na, na-ano na. ‘Yun, hindi ko maja-justify. But that instant, split second where there were a burst of emotion, kung tao ka, nakita mo ‘yun, mag-rereact ka talaga. To me, it’s just being human,” said Guiao.

All players thrown out because they joined the meelee should be suspended for playing basketball for 1-2 years while oz's kicker should be suspended longer. Anyway Oz basketball federation is expecting a long suspension for kicker.

Sigurado iiyak nanaman si chot and SBP at mag drama pag suspended mga players nila ng matagal. Parang ginagawa nila kay cheater Ravena. [emoji23]

Aminado na rin yun kicker na yun action niya nag Start nun gulo. So there's that.

Wala nag justify sa ginawa nila Exception for Longley just because chot was caught on camera ordering his thugs to hurt the opponent.

The Ravena issue they just swept it unddr the rug, kesyo hindi alam nung bata. Bata pa ba yun 24y/o? And at 24 need na nya ng PEDs? And the staff hindi nagbrief sa mga players what they should not take?

With the rumble, walang nag control sa players and staff, and tuloy lang ang sugod?

And less than an hour after the incident, lahat sila even si Chot nasa twitter na nagtu-tweet!?!?

The problem is dikit si chot kay mvp. Maraming mga mas magagaling na coach ang pinas kesa kay chot pero since si mvp ang backer ng gilas, si chot ang naging coach.

Haha. Dapat tinagalog nys na lang para di maintindihan ng foreigner. Yan tuloy, naungkat pa. Si abueva talaga ang madumi maglaro at ang role nya sa gilas eh mang inis. Pero nag backfire.

A 5 year ban is a little too much. Probably 1 or 2 years would do and disqualiffied na tayo sa olympic qualifiying para mag reset na ang gilas pool. Mvp cant back up gilas forever esp he is losing money now and we need someone to take over his duties.

Ako sa totoo lang i understand yun Mind set ng OZ dahil they just lose to Japan and playing against PH in their home court.

Siyempre they will come out puff up and tough and try not be intimidated since they know 100% of the crowd will be supporting the home team.

Everybody knows naman that boomers plays physical but not dirty.

And at the same time as a Filipino we know naman yun brand of play ng mga PBA players Their so called "style" is pangugulang dahil they have to make up for their lack of height and skills.

Bakit kasi hinde sinasabi yun ginawa ni Abueva which what i think really started all of it. It set up the tone of the game.

Tutal ginagawa nilang palusot na warm up pa lang nanulak na si kickert eh bakit they are conveniently not mentioning Bakit ginawa ni kickert yun?
