Eh james yap tunay kaibigan eh gusto tulungan kakampi so he kick the import pero syempre malaki import kaya napatakbo.

Hindi kaya cagiwa mo, talking trash but cannot back it up.

Top 3 all star vote getter.

Panuodin mo kasi cagiwa pag may laban vs kia. Kasi jan lang sya makakalaro mga above 3minutes but not more than 5minutes. In a year tatlo game yun.

we are never successful in our FIBA campaign. the best that we could come up with was a third place finish in 1954 in rio de janiero.

we are never a world-class basketball playing nation, even if we have naturalized foreign players.

pitted against their counterparts in the US, Europe, and South America, all our big men playing in the PBA, then and now, are all bunch of lampa.

i said it then and i say it again: basketball is not for midgets. no way midgets could compete in the world stage of basketball.

insanity, according to Albert Einstein, is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

uruguay is just a small country (176,215 square km) in south america with a population of less than 4M and GDP of $82.406 billion, while the philippines is twice larger at 343,448 square km with a population of 100M. our GDP is 10 times bigger at $955.587 billion. if we are poor, they are dirt poor.

but, in the world cup, uruguay has clobbered russia, defeated cristiano ronaldo and portugal.

our sports officials should bite the bullet and make a paradigm shift. basketball is a lost cause. let us shift all our efforts, energy, and resources to another undertaking where we could outshine even the best in the world.

this insanity must come to an end.

    Very well written.

But yeah, probably after the war eh we are still under their influence. Kung kausapin ko mga tibak na kaibigan, baka sabihin nila until 2016 eh we are under their influence. Ngayon lang, iba ang paradigm shift... Under naman tayo ng mga singkit. But I digress...

It would take a century to remove basketball on the Filipinos mind. Another option is baseball.

Speaking of football, I'm pleasantly surprised at how well U.P. varsity is playing. Amateur level so not really comparable to the national team, but how they play as a unit speaks volumes about the coaching staff.

I heartily agree. In fact, we're currently the #1 men's football team in the asean region right now. We did that turn around from the worst to the best in just 7 -8 years. Not a small feat since thailand, indonesia & Singapore are true blue footballing nations w/ naturalized players to boot. And add to that, both our men's & women's team have qualified for the prestigious asian football confederation ( afc) asian cup , this region's world cup.

Ang problema filipinos don't find the appeal in playing "the beautiful game" talaga.

Sad to say, that that strong football achievement we've had may be shortlived since the pro football league operating right now is in near collapse because basically no one is watching. Our primo players are now playing in thailand, singapore, indonesia, and malaysia. No audience means no sponsors and no sponsors means no more quality players to field & feed our national team.

For the past 3 or 4 years sila lang ng ateneo ang nagpapalit ng kampeonato sa collegiate circuit. Their respective brain trusts are exceptionally trained. Dlsu's perpetual coach hans smit also ranks way up there w/ the aforementioned football programs.

He is the best home grown striker i've seen so far. This kid will make a name for himself in asian football in the future.

As for the basketball melee in bulacan, i'm on the fence on this one. If not for the phrases "have some banana monkey boy" or " you little monkey" being casually spoken & disguised as trash talk by our visitors, i'll be condemning this incident in a heartbeat. Pero hindi eh.

Galing di ba? I enjoy watching the way they play. Patient and disciplined.

Not really doc. Messi is arguably the best football player but he's only 170cm tall.

I may agree na kailangan nang magkaroon ng change of paradigm but it will take a long, long time to replace basketball as the most dominant sport sa pilipinas (unless yung magiging players nito ay magmamana sa huge height ng mga magulang).

Football, as others say, is cheap...but the problem is the limited pitches available sa pinas. And the lack of exposure ng football leagues right now, in the PH (kahit nung time ng PFL wherein ipinapalabas pa siya sa TV). Kaya nga yung football merchandise dito, very limited.
