Hi Guys- I own Haro Sonix full suspension and now building bike for my wife. I'm looking at size 16 frame in Hard tail. I got some parts already taken from my Sonix bike after some upgrade like front suspension Rox Shox, truvativ handle bar and stem, truvativ sprocket.

I prefer haro flightline frame to match my haro sonix. Do you have any feedback guys for ladies HT bike.

    Thanks

    you guys all on vacation?

anyway just an update on where ive been riding, joined the xc race on tlbf at subic, was hoping i could build my fs to join the dh and 4x but unfortunately my hubs arent available yet so i had to bring my ht and join the xc, crap i was late! we got to the race venue at 7am but my age group was racing third to the last so i went home took a nap when i got back our division already started! anyway still got 7th place

rode 221km last last sunday during the laguna lake advocacy ride on a mtbike, left manila 3am got to los banos at 6am, havent biked to laguna before so i googlearthed my route, luckily there were still a few vampires out on the street i could ask directions to

cainta to los banos registered 75km on my cyclocomputer, route: ortigas ext left at e.rod going to c5 to the fort, made my way to heritage park then just straight, took quezon road to alabang, muntinlupa then took national road to laguna. at los banos we took route around laguna lake passing by pagsanjan, sinoloan, jalajala, then finally to tanay then back to pasig.

man was i wasted! i got about 1hr of sleep the night before, i even crashed into the side of a jeepney because my reflexes were shot, i just went back into my bike and kept pedaling hehe para nakung zombie, my cyclo registered 221km when i got to our front gate

    hi guys..

It's nothing new nor expensive. My old m-bike also had one. The fastest speed it recorded was 72kph when I did a road downhill run with some friends.

At least my bike's long frame was great for the high speed run as compared to the other's short frame which was good on the trail but performed less well on the high speed straights.

*isuzoom, you said it! grabe sobrang init, i rode last sun and akala ku babagsak nalang aku sa heatstroke! i used half of my water just splashing on my head and back pero walang effect

*JJ, yup cheap lang mga cyclometer, it displays max speed, ave speed, trip distance and odometer, costs around 600 to 1k plus.

to answer your question: well yes, a lighter bike is easier to pedal. world cup xc riders measure by the grams to shave off weight on their bikes, you wouldn't believe the cost and stuff they do to lose as low as 50grams lang.

disadvantage: a light bike wouldnt be as stable as a heavier bike when you're going down some rough stuff and of course lighter bikes means lesser/lighter materials used so it wouldnt handle hard riding

diskbrakes vs vbrakes (yung old brakes). diskbrakes have greater stopping power, they will stop better on wet and muddy conditions but are heavier than your ordinary vbrakes

kung subd lang, a hardtail (ht) will do, but my motto is: it is better have one even though i dont need it than dont when i need it isnt this a condom motto? hehe anyway a ht will suffice more than 90% of the riding trails anywhere in the phil

*ghosthunter, i got a 160kph before hahaha im sure i didnt go that fast, i must've hit a bump at high speed and the compression of the fork must've fooled the sensor, even the bike mechanic was incredulous and kept asking how i did it

Mountain Biking...freespirited, and not-so-complicated fun
