DOH COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #158
As of 4PM today, August 19, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 173,774.
A total of 4,650 confirmed cases are reported based on the total tests done by 97 out of 105 current operational labs.
DOH likewise announces 716 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 113,481.
Note:
Of the 4,650 reported cases today, 3,848 (83%) occurred within the recent 14 days (August 6 -19, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (2,576 or 67%), Region 4A (574 or 15%) and Region 6 (156 or 4%.)
Of the 111 deaths, 76 (68%) in August, 13 (12%) in July, 8 (7%) in June, 9 (8%) in May, and 5 (5%) in April. Deaths were from NCR (52 or 47%), Region 7 (29 or 26%), Region 4A (11 or 10%), Region 3 (6 or 5%), Region 9 (4 or 4%), REPATRIATE (4 or 4%), Region 6 (2 or 2%), Region 5 (1 or 1%), Region 11 (1 or 1%), and BARMM (1 or 1%.)
There were eighty-nine (89) duplicates that were removed from the total case count. Of these, sixty-nine (69) were recovered and two (2) deaths have been removed.
Moreover, there were twenty-seven (27) cases that were previously reported as recovered but after final validation, they were deaths (26) and active (1) cases. There's also one (1) case that was previously reported as death has been validated to be a recovery.
