June 22nd, 2012 02:03 AM #604Try and backread. Treasure trove of info on proper break in procedures not mentioned in any owners manual. While the manual will not discuss elaborate protocol, some basics I've picked up over the years from automative enthusiasts and engineers at forums like this are:
1. Do not go in excess of the mentioned max speed during the first 500-1000km (example: don't go over 100km/hr);
2. Do not go over 1,500 rpm until engine temperature reaches optimal operating level, halfway between C and H on the temperature gauge;
3. Avoid jackrabbit starts and hard braking during mentioned first 1000 kms;
4. For manual trannies, follow the shifting protocol vs speed;
5. Do not stay in a single speed over prolonged periods; in short, vary driving speed.
These are the major steps I always undertake with every new vehicle I've had over the last two decades.
Good luck and enjoy your new ride!

Doon siya nakahiga sa malaking space near the right fender. Siguro namatay lang kasi alang uod o langaw o bantot. Pero tumigas na yung katawan.
Eventually this undetaking has to take place but it is the planning and coordination that is...
