    FAIL!

I'm buying my 3year old son an iPad2 16GB wifi for his 4th bday next month. He's complaining that my Android phone don't have nice games for kids.

im confused. are you saying that your one-of-a-kind moment are all steady poses? with peace signs pointed on the cheek? can your iphone/ipad clearly capture kids playing?

dude, do you have kids? have you tried taking school plays (indoors) when your not near the stage to take pictures? kid's school plays are also included in your one-of-a-kind-moment. im not sure if your iphone can arm-zoom more than a dslr lens can optically zoom. nor can you take better pictures on a low light environment.

and your taking those precious moments on an iphone or camera phone? are you serious?

most of all. this thread has OT'd way too much hahaha

well you can always remain stagnant with what you have. but i'm betting on the technology that even your kids want to have for today. buti ka pa nga may kids eh, listen to them. if you force them to buy DSLRs in the future, it's like trying to force them to play the piano. Dami old houses ngaun may piano naktambak, taking up to much precious real estate space.

Why buy DLSR cameras for kids when future point&shoot cameras will just get better and still fit in the pocket? My niece is less than ten years old and she just loves taking pictures with her camera and later uploading via her laptop to her facebook account to share with her cousins and school friends.

Hayzz ok reply na din ako. I just wish you guys stop and use imagination

first, cables - existing electric guitars and synthesizers and even vocalists with mic have wired cables. we don't see em tripping while performing don't we?

2nd, heat - heat is always present sa electric musical instruments and perhaps hotter than devices running on 12V

3rd, DSLR for kids, it's baker who defended DSLR for his kids. so I think it's safe to assume that as a parent, he will encourage his kids to do the same bec he loves DSLR.

4th, niece in P&S, mainggit Lang sya sa mga kids with itouch, iPhone, iPad w/ camera bec other kids can do more and therefore smarter

Ang layo na naabot ng topic...

Para sakin ok na phone cam or ipad cam for use. Unless you're a photo addict or pro. Dlsr pa rin choice ng mga yan.

Tungkol sa topic on ipad 3, mas ok pa rin ako sa android. Hehe

Naku OB, where have you been? You have spent too much time in Middle Earth and in the gym. Puro wireless equipment na ngayon. Wireless microphones and digital wireless electric guitar systems.

Nope. Her dad (my brother) lets her use his Apple iPad & iPhone4S but she prefers to use her laptop. Easier to type and use. No need for adapters to connect SD-card to read the contents. She even borrows and uses her dad's micro 4/3 camera if she needs some special shot that her camera cannot do. She also has tried both Samsung and Apple tablets. BTW, she is among the top kids of her school batch too. Her mom is really proud of her.

you missed the point. a dlsr will take better pictures than an iphone/ipad. please refer to my swiss knife explanation. or the moon shot by *ghosthunter post.

you can use your iphone or swiss knife if you like. but it will be beaten (workmanship or quality) by a gadget or device that was built for that purpose (take pics or a wood saw for the swiss knife just incase you missed it again).

    ot again. sorry for that.

ngaun kasi Baker with the advent, hinde na nga advent kase mainstream na ang DSLR, parang wala ng WoW factor if you use DSLR to capture moments. DSLR takes better pics that's a given.

pero yun iphone photos kasi sobrang, unplanned ba, nakakakuha ka ng moment tapos na-ipakita mo kagad sa relatives / friends mo.

for example, sabi mo piniktyuran mo anak mo receiving medal or graduating ba? napakasarap kaya nun feeling na after kaka-picture mo, eh nakita kagad ng mundo mo (FB or Twitter friends) ang proud na proud ka sa anak mo. yun composition/tamang lighting parang secondary na lang, coz yun iphone moment is best capture moment with raw emotion as well as reaction. and the feeling also of instant gratification coz na-acknowledge na kagad ng ibang tao.

eh pano kung pag-naggraduate anak mo, tapos kain kayo sa Sambokojin after, tapos sabihin nya sa'yo, Dad i don't want to be a doctor anymore, I want to be a nurse. or Dad, I will marry X na. so pano na yun sobrang ganda mo DSLR pics, siguro you wouldn't find any strength to upload it anymore

OB, are you trying to discourage *baker123 from buying an IPad or IPhone?

IPad domination: Apple continues to lead in mobile PC shipments

    By Salvador Rodriguez

    May 23, 2012, 12:26 p.m.
Apple's dominance of the mobile PC and tablet market continued through the first quarter of 2012, according to a new forecast report.

Apple towered over the tablet sector with the iPad while also keeping a strong hold at the top of mobile PC shipments, which include notebook PCs.

The iPad continues to be the most-sold tablet, accounting for nearly 63% of market share and seeing year-to-year growth of 162% for the first quarter, according to NPD DisplaySearch's report.

Falling in line behind Apple's 13.6 million shipped units was Samsung, which overtook No. 3 Amazon while RIM and ASUS came in fourth and fifth places, respectively. Notably missing from the top five was Barnes & Noble.

In total mobile PC shipments, which includes tablets as well as notebooks and mini-notebooks, Apple also led the way.

The Cupertino-based company held a market share of 22.5% that was nearly twice as large as its closest competitor, which was HP with an 11.6% share. In this arena, Apple shipped 17.2 million units, with the non-iPad units likely being MacBook Airs, although the report did not specify.

In the strictly notebook and mini-notebook PC sector, HP was in first place. HP shipped nearly 9 million units and had a market share of 16.2%. After it came Acer Group with 6.5 million shipped units and almost 12% market share.

Mobile PCs experienced 30% year-to-year growth, but that growth is mostly coming from tablets. Individually, tablets had 124% year-to-year growth, dwarfing that of notebooks and mini-notebooks, which was only 12%.

Personally photographed mo ba yan? We can always google up better pictures....

Ok lang, I simply used my camera with it's built-in zoom feature to take my pictures ... no telescope aids.
