Katy McCaffrey doesn't have her stolen iPhone back yet. But it looks like she's one step closer after an alleged thief's pictures taken with the phone began uploading to her photo stream.

NPR reports that McCaffrey had her phone stolen while taking part in a Disney Cruise Line vacation. The pictures being automatically uploaded from her iPhone appear to show a Disney Cruise employee named "Nelson" in various poses using the phone's camera.

"I can't see any reason why people shouldn't share this," McCaffrey wrote to her friends in the comments. So far, the album has been reposted 174 times. All told, it appears pretty damning, and McCaffrey seems unequivocal in assigning guilt, but as the story starts to spread on Twitter and go viral, we sure hope this isn't some larger misunderstanding, for everyone involved. (Did she report it missing? Could he have unwittingly bought the phone from someone else?) On the other hand, if Nelson is really responsible, he's about to get owned.


Update: Disney has recovered the phone and placed Nelson on administrative leave while they investigate.

my iPad 2 was stolen 2 nights ago. I was parked outside of a bldg, my car's window was smashed and the thief got my bag with my ipad 2, swiss knife, some cash, some membership/discount cards inside. This was the first time that I left my bag in the car as I felt the parking to be secure. There's a security guard and some tricycle drivers in the area so I don't think anyone can do what was done to my car.

The security guard claimed that someone asked him to buy cigarettes, when he came back with the cigarettes, that person already positioned his car to leave, just waiting for the guard. Not sure if that guy was the thief.

I have the locator function in the ipad turned on, but until now, it still can't be located.

Now, should I be afraid of my and my family's safety? I have pictures of my family in the ipad. I have business emails indicating some of my business transactions in it too.

I have already changed the passwords to my email, facebook and apple id accounts.

Dito lang malapit sa amin. Pwede i-remote wipe yung data pero dapat magconnect sa wifi yung ninakaw na ipad. Mukhang hindi pa nag online yung ipad.

Btw, if nag master reset ba yung ipad, di na malolocate?

why do you guys need a screen protector? its already scratch resistant glass. just buy the smart cover to cover the screen when you're not using it.

Scratch resistant lang po not scratchproof. Like the glass in my iphone4, may scratches na siya sa likod kasi wala siya case and protector. Better be safe than be sorry.
