Waiting for my Christmas gift to arrive early this year.
You know what, I was also not incline to buy tablets before...but Ang hirap talaga mag bukas ng laptop Sa airport just to browse while waiting for your flight...
Tama sabi ni yebo, primarily I'm using my iPad while waiting...
As for the camera, hinde ko ginagamit wala nga naka save na photo Sa iPad ko eh.
To answer the question, I'll not upgrading to the new iPad, parang it's not worth it coming from ipad2, I also don't play games anyway, so I don't think I need the better resolution or speed

How will the LYTRO tubular shape fit in the IPad or Iphone? I guess NEVER.
Lytro iPhone impossible at the moment, stop asking - SlashGear
Though it’s been suggested by many, including me, that this meant light field technology could possible in mobile devices such as the iPhone and the iPad, that’s simply not true with the current set of rules in both physics and technology.

Until they can fit an optical zoom into the iphones/ipads, and have the technology to capture more light with those tiny lenses, I'll still be using mg dslr to take pictures.

The underwater cameras of olympus has optical zoom pero as thick as 2 iPads. Won't be long. Wag nyo na kase panghinayangan ang DSLRs nyo. look at bigger picture, anything big is always considered bulky and low tech.
I have joined the iphoneography community. You'll be surprised how creative the minds of the young here. part of the creativity is real-time processing of the photo taken. Eh sa DsLR uuwi pa kyo.
and also check Sulit DSLRs are fast dropping resale values, some even less than 50% . The young are not interested in big MPs anymore bec they don't print, and they dont care about artful pics coz were now a faster-paced world, anything bulky slows you down. DSLR is just art expression something that new Apple apps are trying to meet.
dont be like those once held film SLRs. Katwiran nila film SLRs will never be like Digital sLRs. It's a niche or kng anu-Ano pa. look at where it is now. DBa ganyan din katwiran nyo ngaun, right now you're fast becoming the oldie.
even touch interface will replace anything keyboard or buttons. Coz right now the cost of producing touch raw materials is cost-economical than producing/sourcing/labeling those buttons/dials/arrow keys in your prized camera. Even Microsoft and Ford Mustang developed an instrument panel na purely touch screen. Na-customize pa yun panel meters
world is changing gentlemen
Pakita nga yung mga autistic photography mo OB galing sa IPhon,, or all talk kalang?
What's wrong with it ghost, I only get to travel 4 times a year or 5 tops, if I spent like total of 200k for a DsLR with 3 lenses and all related accessories like big protective bags, extra battery, tripods etc. maybe 300 days of that 365 / year naktambak LNG sa bahay 200k.
then when I get home, I offload all say 2000 pics of my travel in say Rome but don't have time to process or archive it online. Makakaluha ka ng time one month after, yun enthusiasm mo sa travel wala na
Ang sarap sarap nun: "extraordinary _ at Colloseo, Rome. Dami pa ako likes and comments. And instant reactions and replies hehehe
we sometimes find OB's post weird... but this is true...
technology is fast paced... paliitan ang labanan... when i was in a semicon manufacturing company, almost every 6 months meron kami tinetesting na new model of the same product only smaller... at hindi pa halos nag mass production yung isang product meron na naman papalit na mas maliit and sometimes better pa...
di ba meron ang nokia cellphone na may optical zoom?? may commercial pa yun eh
Ito yung best camera phone. Mas mataas pa ang megapixels than top DSLR cameras... Nikon D800 has only 31mp.
Nokia 808 PureView - Full phone specifications
Nokia 808 PureView
41 MP (38 MP effective, 7152 x 5368 pixels), Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, Xenon flash
1/1.2'' sensor size, ND filter, up to 4x lossless digital zoom, geo-tagging, face detection
Video 1080p*30fps, lossless digital zoom, LED light
The optical zoom of the periscope optics for waterproof cameras from Olympus results in crappy image quality. I have tried them and my brother even owns one. The only good thing about it is you can take underwater photos. Regular photos are just poor quality, soft definition, colors inaccurate and lacks luster.
Nothing even close to a DLSR... not even to the point & shoot quality you get from Canon digicams.
What I remember is this: Samsung AMOLED 12M SCH-W880 Camera Phone Now Official | iTech News Net
Samsung phone with 12mp digicam and 3x optical zoom. Even has TV and 4GB internal storage.
But it is never going to replace a DLSR camera. At best, it can only replace an entry level digicam.
There was a time when I thought I can get rid of my Point and Shoot camera with a smartphone w/ camera. But the more I learned how to take good photographs, the more I found out that a phone-cam is just too limited by it's basic design (by having to be small & slim to fit into a small & slim phone). Phone cameras are just fine for taking the occasional party pictures but it will never cut it for taking quality photos like the following:

a phone camera will never replace a dedicated camera because of the battery life of the phone. until they make a very high capacity compact battery, phone cameras will just be for taking snap shots here and there.

iPad 2 32GB w/ wifi-3g is enough IMO.
Fasten your seatbelt! Or else...Driven To Thrill!
Never replace?? its really hard to say that nothing will ever replace any gadget...
some point and shoot camera now sport lenses found in DSLR...
before notebooks where marketed.. then suddenly a flood of tablets that turned notebooks obsolete....
even if you want it, time will come it will not be available and you will have no choice but to go with the flow..
if camera on the tablets will not improve, maybe the camera itself will be improved... some cameras now have built in WIFI for quick photo sharing
So why are you traveling with 200K worth of DLSR and kit? You don't need your entire kit with you when you are traveling. At best, all you will need is the basic 24mm-55mm lens and a zoom lens.
The fact is I have a P&S camera for traveling. It has good enough shooting capability, wide lens and powerful enough zoom. Fits in the pocket and it's battery even lasts the day (up to 300 shots w/ mix of 50% flash & no-flash).

A gadget is a gadget... if it will not sell in high enough volumes, it will never be sold in the market. So a phone with a good enough lens/sensor to rival a DLSR in quality will simply be too expensive and also too bulky to appeal to the mass smartphone audience.
As small as gadgets get, photos still require the same basic principles to get good pictures. One is having more light on the sensor to get a better image. Hence a lens measuring a fraction of an inch will never outperform a DLSR.
BTW, "point & shoot" with DLSR lenses aren't P&S. They are called micro 4/3 cameras and bridge cameras. They might offer basic dlsr quality but never the same flexibility and overall photo quality.
so now the question is...
which is better a Digital SLR or a FILM SLR?? hehehe
napalayo na tayo sa ipad 3
saka Ano na exciting sa dslr, matuka ka pa ng ahas trying to find that good shot sa nature photography mo. Why do you do that? Syempre you want others to see your award-winning photo and be appreciated and be liked.
eh ako bago ako mag-travel, 3 weeks b4 mag-lalike na ako sa photos ng mga ka-FB ko and when the time comes na nasa travel location na ako, yun mga ni-like ko will reciprocate, so bale assured na ako ng mga 20-30 likes, tapos yun other FB friends thinking that I have a hit photo bec of so many likes, la-like din, if I reach 50 or more likes yun mga susunod ko pa upload sa iPhone sa next coming days, assured na din I-view nila.
as in wow, this is teh bomb social networking + photos! eh yun mga photographer dyan Minsan d pa mka 5 likes tpos pakahirap n cla sa angle shots, ang gastos pa
