The storage? They're priced about the same w/ the Pana instant multi-point. Yes, there are a lot of less popular brands of lower initial cost. With heaters, softeners, & appliances, I'd usually point where there's good parts support.
On projects? Don't really have that luxury to choose blessings, good brother.[emoji120] We simply go where there's work & do whatever's asked...like they were our own. Year in & out, can't help but notice the worth of many a product often shunned due to perceived high initial outlay. Just grateful for em chances & trust to have a bit of 1st hand play on stuff here & there....some I can't imagine owning.[emoji120]

the temp control knob is just above our heads on the wall, where the heater is.
we just reach up and adjust to our desired temp. it's not a chore at all.
and it beats getting more exotic equipment.

Stiebel also has another brand available locally, AEG. I suppose this is their budget brand?

    AEG Water Heater

My in laws have been using one for around 3 years now so too early to tell how durable it is. They also have a low pressure 3.5 KW model.

Same lang Stiebel Eltron and AEG, they rebranded lang to Stiebel to appear more high end hehe.

Stiebel Eltron yung heater ko now. Works well naman, fits the 20A max capacity that my stock breaker came with. No issues for the past 1.5 years I've had it.

we use "jett" tankless electric heater.
recommended by a kakilala in the building industry. we were given the contact number, many (6? 10?) years ago.
i couldn't find it in the mall.
    it's still ok.

Panasonics & these above did not fare well nor last long in hard water conditions here. Coupled w/ good softener systems, they should serve as they have you guys in the capital. Your water there is soft from my recollection.

but is there a hardwater-resistant heater?
kasi, by the very nature of hardwater and the mode of heating the water...

para yang engine radyeythor na ginamitan ng tubig balon...

Instant multi-point heaters have much smaller tubes, between the inlet & outlet valves, to slow the flow down as they heat the water passing thru. Hard water calcificifies when heated. Once the scales clog those small diameter tubes, you're looking at either servicing or replacing. You guys are blessed to not have homes sitting on limestone bedrock like ours here are.
The individual storage only has the heating element, relief valve & thermostat. It heats what's stored. Water doesn't pass thru small tubes. It's not hardwater-proof but trouble-free service life is relatively longer.

Stiebel Eltron has always been Stiebel Eltron ... They acquired Electrolux which owned the AEG brand ... for some reason, they rebranded Stiebel Eltron to AEG in some markets and then reverted back to Stiebel Eltron ...

Install a basic water filter from the main pipe ... helps prevent leaking pipes and toilets ... also prevents stains on glassware and the like ... and watermarks on your vehicle(s) ...

    what's a basic water filter?
    physical sieve-type filter,
    or ion exchange filter?
