I'm on a relatively old 1440p ultrawide monitor being run on a GTX 1080 from 2 years ago. Prior to that I was on a dual monitor setup (both fullHD) run with 2 1070's (on SLI).

I would definitely go with the ultrawide over a dual- or even triple-monitor setup, especially the newer 5K ones with a deep curve.

lg and asus are offering 49" ultrawides or if you want asus is also offering a huge 65" monitor

16-32g ram with 3000mhz is more than enough (choose your brand nalang)
need atleast 650w power supply (800w recommended) [seasonic gold fully modular is highly recommended]
z390 motherboards (choose your brand nalang din)
nzxt brand atx case is a recommended great case
for graphics card, i highly recommend galax. same performance as other top brands like msi or asus rog (well maybe just a tiny bit less powerful, i'm guessing no more than + - 5%) but not as expensive.
    Thx for the comprehensive info!

Any builder you can recommend qC or greenhills area....

the only thing i don't like in that 49" is that it's still 1080p, should be 1440p atleast with that size

I got my latest PC Build from Dynaquestpc(.com), although the nearest branch they have from QC is in Ortigas. They have the lowest prices, although stocks are not always available due to high demand. Their website has pretty much the components you'll need, although you better call them to confirm if they have those in stocks

Get a super ultrawide and not just an ultrawide ... 32:9 ratio ... Get a 1440p with 165 hz refresh or 200 Hz ... If you really want 4K, you need at least 40" for a 16:9 to benefit from the resolution ... 50" for an ultrawide (21:9) ... 72" for a super ultrawide (32:9) ...

AMD processors give more value for money these days ...

    New question:

I have an existing MSI GS65 laptop with a 8th gen core i7 and a GTX 1070 and thunderbolt 3.

Can i just buy one of those external graphics card cases plus a RTX 2080 super or Ti? Id save a ton of money. Get a nice monitor and a keyboard and have desktop class gaming. Would this work?

    Do shops here sell those?

Should work. Pero may performance penalty yan, like vid card runs at 4x instead of 8x.

After awhile, you'd run into cpu bottleneck. Pero i think, tagal pa nun.

Also choose between a 4k or an ultrawide. I heard also that higher refresh rates are the bomb.

Right now, i am using a dell 34" ultrawide. Bought it before freesync or nvidia sync are mainstream. Immersive na at 60 hz

should work fine but nothing beats a proper pc setup + laptops are notorious for high temps due to poor air circulation inside the chasis even in an airconditioned room, on the flip side i really like their portability.

for just gaming, browsing, and watching movies/videos, yeah overkill but for editing, heaven
you could build a mid-range but still a powerful rig to satisfy your needs that can easily play most if not all triple A titles at very high to ultra settings for lesser money but knowing that money is not an issue with you, you could go ahead with any of your choices.

    here's a suggestion that you'd may consider:

z390 motherboard (z models is for intels and x for ryzen)
    intel i7-8700 (6 cores, 12 threads)
you can also get a non-rgb ram which will save you some money (patriot viper steel or hyperx fury)
liquid cooler for me personally is not necessary since you most likely will not overclock but if you really want one, id cooling auraflow is great 240mm
rtx 2070-2080 (your choice and brand)
samsung evo ssd 250G is more than adequate for your OS for faster startup, the rest of your files and programs, you can just put it in the hdd (atleast 1T or 2T)
as suggested before seasonic gold fully modular power supply 650w - above
this will cost you about 50-70k
i'm no expert with vehicles but with your options is like driving a sti and my suggestion is driving a wrx if that analogy makes any sense
again as mentioned earlier, more than enough to cater to your needs and atleast no less than 5 years future proof.

case, monitor, kb, mouse, headset, etc.. up to you
