I was wondering if this is necessary, so I asked the tech who cleaned my units, he didn't answer straight but pointed out to me that my new units (window type) do not have vents anymore on top, while my old non inverter still had. Maybe it is necessary hence the new design, but I still wondered, that for the last 20 years, all our non inverters had vents on the top and none died prematurely

i'd read the manual, to see if they recommend dog-houseing it or not.

doing some quick google,
perusing just the first few statements, i seem to see conflicting comments...

Yung tech din po sinabi nila di na kailangan may bubong yung outdoor unit.. pero para sakin ang acid rain sa katagalan tingin ko may impact pa din..
oh well hindi kasi ako may-ari ng bahay.. nakikitira lang ako sa parents ko..
