True. I've a friend who has been w/ Electrolux au for the longest time. The brand now owns Westinghouse, Kelvinator, Frigidaire, Tappan & many others He admits some 'discrimination' though. Their domestic products are not necessarily the same ones sold here in our region.... Much like what VW thinks our market deserves...the Santanas & their other Chinese models....Sad truth.[emoji17]

Our Samsung Split type ACs turned 7 years old yesterday. Alaga sa linis kapag humina na lamig pati blower. Mahina lang blower neto compared sa mga bagong labas ngayon. Isang unit lang ang napa repair since ngka leak sa lines. Pero yung iba okay na okay. 1HP and i Have 4 units.

Pero sa bagong bahay na pnagawa ko window type lang provisions sa Rooms i bought Kolin na inverter. Nakakapani bago lang since maingay ang blower ng window type kaysa sa split type

Going to get a Daikin 1hp split installed this Saturday. 31k with free installation. Dadagdag lang 750 for circuit breaker. 4 hours pala inaabot ang installation?

Insist on a larger drain pipe, sir. Don't buy their standard 3/4" talk.....you'll require more frequent servicing...Those won't be free.

I was just looking at this:

Parts of Split Air Condioners: Outdoor Unit

Drain tube, not refrigerant piping, right? Sige, sir.

Aircon installer was here this morning for an ocular. He tried to dissuade me from upgrading the drain line from the standard 3/4" to 1" as suggested on this thread. Makapal daw and mahirap ibalot etc etc. He finally relented when I stood firm. The line will extend 22' from the front wall of the garage to the gate.

We may also need to upgrade from a 2.5 to a 3.0 based on the area and usage (living room + kitchen + small bathroom + stairs). We decided on a Panasonic but since we might be getting a bigger unit we will have to check their prices again. They recommend Daikin and Panasonic in terms of reliability. They also carry LG and Hitachi.

If all goes well everything should be up and running by this weekend
