I'm due for retention na pala sa Smart. My S9 is holding up pretty well still, but I do miss the bigger screen and battery life of my S7 Edge. Shortlist is Note20 5g and S21+ which are around the same price. Any issues with these 2 models?

If you can get the Ultra, go for that. Was offered that also from smart last month. Took it. Spoiled na ako sa SPen kasi. Tapos I saw na it's not locked pala. Not bad. Now I'm talking to my concierge kasi I might just go for an eSim. That way even if I place another sim in the slot, I can also use a micro sd.

Ultra is quite a jump e. 7k difference if acquired from Smart. Is the S1+ a better value then?

Not really a power user so the main reason for me to upgrade is the screen size. Maybe the S20 FE will suit me better. A lot cheaper too.

Kasi yung xiaomi ko nagkakaproblema na. 3Hours nakacharge eh 13% pa lang. Maayos pa ba ito kahit sealed. Simula nagdownload ako WeChat eh bumagal na charging. TApos puro pa ako videocall this year.

It turns out negotiations between LG and Volkswagen and Vingroup JSC in Vietnam on the possible sale of the smartphone business has failed. Also, LG has suspended its plans to launch all new smartphones in the first half of the year. In other words, because LG has not found a suitable buyer to take over its smartphone business, it had to shut it down.

LG’s smartphone business has suffered losses for 23 consecutive quarters since the second quarter of 2015. As of the fourth quarter of last year, the department’s accumulated losses reached 5 trillion won (approximately US$4.43 billion). So this could become a good deal.

In this regard, some users expressed regret that in the field of smartphones, LG once became the world’s third largest smartphone manufacturer, second only to Nokia and Samsung. However, it is a pity that the former ‘overlord’ is now rumored to close the smartphone business.

Yup, public confidence and the modular phone that they gave up on easily contributed to their decline. Ot left a bas taste to their fan base.

Tapos lagi pang luma processor nila even if TOTL model. Ubos kasi ni Samsung ang SD processor na highest end noon eh.

The LG G2 was their best phone imho and their last great one except maybe the G6 and the V30. Sayang talaga. They got left behind fast.

LG Phones are just not good enough

Remember the Pixel 2 XL screen issue? - that's an LG OLED Panel (they make the best OLED Panels for TV, pero they can't replicated the formula for smartphones)
Camera? Apple uses Sony modules, Chinese OEMs use Samsung
Storage? - Samsung

LG did give us the "healing phone," the rear fingerprint sensor and the aluminum body.

Pero the very slow Android updates (slower than Samsung) plus the lack of high end hardware... mahirap talaga bilhin ang LG over Samsung

Yung V20 ko pinamana ko sa anak ko after the G2. Napalitan na lang battery pero okay pa siya until now. Maganda kasi DAC nun kaya mas gusto ng anak ko.

I think that's what killed them too, the bootloop and how they handled it. Kasabayan yan ng exploding battery ng Samsung. While Samsung recalled their phone, LG waited for class action lawsuit from their consumers.

I use to have an LG G3 before and yes I encountered boot loop problem and LG service center could not fix it need to change the whole motherboard which is expensive. Back then LG was still new and competing with Samsung.

After 3 and a half years, I retired my S8+ and got the S21 5G through my plan.

This is my first phone downsizing in a while and I thought it's going to feel like a downgrade (smaller, lower-res, and non-curve display). But to my surprise, the new phone made up for it in how much it is more comfortable on my hands as well as while in a call. It's also much, much easier on the pocket (both literally and figuratively). The size is just perfect The 120Hz refresh is also a joy and just makes everything very fluid.

I'm on Globe Plan 2499 and I got it with a cash-out of 8.4k (which was then amortized for 24 months). I'd say that the S21 5G is a solid upgrade for me.

G4 ko naman napalitan motherboard within warranty pero ilang buwan lang nasira ulit. Pero G5 pa din binili ko para sa wife ko hehe. Nasa ate ko na, okay pa naman. Hehe

dati wala akong paki-alam sa refresh rate, ang important sa akin... resolution

pero after ko gumamit ng Note 20 Ultra, parang ang bagal na nang 60hz and below
