Look at Realme phones. Globe gave me (in recontracting) a Realme C25s. 4gb RAM, 64gb storage 48 mp cam. It costs around P6k but they have higher spec’ed models that may suit your needs at a fraction of Samsungs price. Libre lang yung akin so I’m not complaining.

If it were mine, I would buy a china brand, more value for money, but it's for the wife, she insists on the brand, like she insists on a Sony for TV [emoji16]

i'd probably get the same brand, probably with better specs as the outgoing model.
that way, there won't be too many learning curves to hurdle.

    what is her outgoing model?
    google for equivalents or better.

    i have an oppo.
alas, no oppo has texting keyboard rotate. we had to import for one, and it doesn't quite fit well with the rest of the phone's apps.

Yes, I was looking at the A72, M52 5g, both priced at the 20k level but then I saw the M32 and 1 store was offering it at 10k and 13k, it looks like the same exact model, maybe the 13k is 5g and they just made an error? Any feedback on the above models? Thanks.

    Check gsmarena.com for phone details.

The M32 was released last year and has 5g.

The A32 is a bit older and comes with 5g and non-5g flavors.

    i have a recently-acquired a32 5g, from smart retention plan.
    ho-hum model.
but i can't use it, as it's smart-locked and wouldn't allow my gomo to function.
where can i have it unlocked, safely?
    OT.

You can ask Smart nicely especially if the device is already fully paid or even free. My guess is they won't allow it until the retention expires.

Next best thing is to have a cellphone tech hack into it.

Prepare for the worst hope for the best

We had a Smart Huawei before. I wasn't able to upgrade its FW because Smart apparently put its own branch in it and it's a dead end with no easy way of going back to the main branch. Who knows what else our local carriers put into their units just to lock them in.

iPhones are the easiest to unlock. Just put in a request after the retention period and after a few hours it's done with no further action needed from the user.

the various ads in carousell indicate asking price of 14,990 pesos, also.
if the price is right, i would prefer buying from samsung official store.
    la lang.

why not hie over to the physical store de samsung? their price might be the same as the others' .

How's the performance? I changed my working 4GB RAM for an 8GB as it was getting slow. I feel 8 should be the minimum today.

Yes, if I happen to go to a Mall, I'll check with our suking cellphone store, Mega, they have better deals than Samsung store and other dealers within the mall.

have you confirmed that its cheaper sa mall?

This m52 is actually ok. big screen with a big battery and 6nm. I wonder if they'll come out with a replacement soon. its listed around 23k right now.

Not yet, but by experience, I find more gadgets cheaper in the mall than online, maybe it's because they realize the heavy competition from online shops so they give better deals. What's 6nm?

6nm is the process node for the main chip inside. 8nm or bigger are kinda older. 4nm is the latest but they're asking 30k plus for these newer chips.

do the more expensive ones offer any significant advantage over the olders?
