i recently got an oppo A12. i am impressed with the battery life.
but i am disheartened to find out, that the screen does not auto-rotate for texting jobs.
texting is my number 1 raison de etre for having a cellphone.
my son downloaded another texting app; this one autorates.
    sigh.
    rant.

Wow, ang tagal ko na naka-Oppo hindi ko sya na-discover.. Kung hindi nyo po nabanggit, hindi ko alam na ayaw nga mag-auto rotate sa text message..

Nung nagpalit ako to Note 20 Ultra 5G, i just used my old smart sim. Nakakakuha naman siya 5G signal sa areas with 5G. Wala naman ako naging issues. I'm sure same pa din naman ngayon

I think think you'll neeed a 5g sim and 5g phone to enioy the benefits of the 5g network.

The 4g sim will not utilize the 5g network..

As per Globe's FAQ, if your SIM is 4G/LTE-capable, all you need is a 5G phone and it will work on their 5G network.

When I switched from an S8 plus to an S21 5G, I just transferred the old Globe SIM and 5G worked immediately.

On the other hand, Smart's FAQ states that you need a 5G-ready SIM.

How to apply for loyalty reward with Globe. There's only plan renewal at Globe One and plan 799 is no longer available.

Nabasa ko sa Smart na you can know if your sim is 5g ready by texting simcheck sa 5832. By this I found out that my 4g sim is 5g ready. At least hindi ko kailangan pumila sa Smart.

My sim is 7yrs old. Pag salpak ko sa phone, 5g lumalabas. Almost 300Mbps.

    Seeking recommendations.

My wife currently has an Oppo A5s that came with her plan from 2 years ago. She's not a power user nor a gamer. She uses her phone mostly for YouTube/Netflix, social media and the typical call, text, Viber, and Messenger. Needless to say, she wants one with a battery that would last the whole day.

Now that she's outside the lock-in period, I want to get a device outside her plan so that we can restructure it to have more mobile data.

I am considering the Samsung Galaxy A32 (not 5G) 6GB|128GB. I know it has an entry-level SoC/chipset but it's still going to run rings around her current A5s for what she does. It also has a proper 90Hz 1080p AMOLED display... which is definitely going to be an upgrade from the Oppo's IPS display.

I am partial to Samsung because of the UI and a relatively longer software update duration. Though, I want to keep an open mind so please recommend a phone in the 10-12k budget.

    The specs seems conflicting:
    1. GSMArena says that it has an IPS display
    2. Some listings on Lazada/Shopee claims it's AMOLED
    3. Realme website doesn't specify what display technology it's using

Looks like it ticks all the right boxes.

Plus software support and parts and service support would be great just in case.
