What does that mean, it doesn't make any sense. As if maka open ka email with the phone flipped?

yung isang tao kasi, na-video nang medyo readable yung big screen ng smart phone nya.
kung flip phone or older phone with smaller screen, hindi mababasa ng bosero ang screen.

So hindi flip phones specifically, but phones with small screens. Confusing Talaga si kagalingan.

well, the flipped part also helps add some degree of privacy.
but sa totoo lang, one just has to be aware and exercise some degree of common sense.

he suspects there is something more to it, that he is not aware of.

    personally, screen size lang yan.

I also watch HTGAWM and it's just a matter of the flip phone not being a smartphone, ergo not connected to the internet. Frank also often uses a burner (aka prepaid sim) so that makes him hard to track.

Cheap market with razor thin profit margin vs high-end status symbol market with huge profit margin.

Apple iPhone profits eclipse cheap Xiaomi smartphones in India — Quartz India

The world over, Apple accounts for nearly 90% of smartphone makers’ profits despite controlling less than 20% of the market.

dok duda kasi ako na screen size lang dahilan kasi ang mga con-man hindi yan paboso-boso lang kung mam-imbestiga. Syepre hi-tech na ngayon.

So ito yung tamang explanation. So mga basic phone like flip phone basta hindi makainternet.

Question lang: will the phone's performance (read: lag) will be affected if it has a memory card inserted?

Only during tasks the system has to read the card. File managers, galleries, running apps saved to card, etc. Reading emails or browsing FB? I don't think so.

May mga apps na gumagamit ng card. Like spotify or Netflix. Pero kung hindi naman wala naman effect.

Only if you use Android's Adoptable Storage feature...

But if you know about this feature, you wouldn't post your question...

    So the answer is NO

Flip phones are usually prepaid phones and they are very cheap ... So it's easier to change phones ... What is interesting in TV shows is that they break the phones in half, as if that will render it untraceable ... Also, why not just replace the SIM card instead? ...
