Almost bought an S8 earlier tonight. When I met up with the guy, may gasgas pala yung phone that he didn't disclose.
Well, the meetup wasn't out of the way for either of us naman so no problem. Minsan mahirap talaga humanap ng magandang secondhand unit. Swerte na rin pala talaga ko sa S7 ko when I got it with absolutely no scratches nor internal issues.

my phones last long.
my current one is already 6 years old and still running well.
buying totl helps stave off the lust for a newer phone, longer.
What phone do you use doc?
All my phones have been TOTL but I find that for my use, phones are good for just around 2 years after they're launched.
Got an iPhone 5 in 2013, replaced it with an iPhone 6 in 2015 due to the bigger screen and better camera, and I noticed significantly reduced battery life on the iPhone 5. I replaced the iPhone 6 with a Note 5 in 2016 due to the dual-sim capability, better camera, and bigger screen. I replaced the Note 5 with an S7 Edge in 2017 due to a better camera, better aesthetics, and mainly because my Note 5 fell and cracked.
Now I think my S7 Edge is due for replacement because it's laggy when using Android Auto, and the 32GB internal memory is insufficient already. It also seems that these curvred LCD phones are more prone to premature death so I wouldn't want to be the one left holding the hot potato.

i have an orphan nokia 925. the other nokias were simply too big.
shortly after, someone bought the company.
Bro, have you tried setting back your S7 to factory mode? The lag may have been caused by some apps that are no longer supported or are resource-hungry. Also using smart switch may have installed these type of apps. Start from fresh and install apps one at a time. HTH.

Bro, I wish I could, but I have so many messages, viber chats, and all others that I need.
I'll have to use smart switch again to back it all up. If it backs up, the zombie apps you mentioned might be reinstalled again?
But I think it's worth a try since upgrading my phone would require me to use smart switch anyway.

I use SMS Backup and Restore for, ah, what the app name suggest. For Viber, I just use the app's backup feature (buti nalang meron na sa Android scheduled backup). For images and videos in Viber, I just include it sa Google Photos backup. Though the problem with Google Photos is it can't sort backed up photos/videos to folders like how it is sorted on your phone so restoring is really hard.

I can also back up photos, contacts, and messages with Samsung Switch which is much faster than Samsung Cloud. But I want my apps and app data to stay as well. Basically I want to keep everything in my phone, but make it much faster.
That's the problem with Viber images - so hard to sort and back up because Viber doesn't seamlessly blend into Samsung's backup functionality.
All of my work messages/images are on viber though so I really need to back it up.
