I've decided to keep my S7 Edge until a good deal for an S8 comes up, para 10k lang ilalabas ko. Then replace it with an S9 next year when prices go down. Hopefully by then the difference would just be 10k as well.
If I get an S9 now I'd have to upgrade my plan and get a 2 year lockup. Not worth it IMO.

Im holding off too. I want an ultra crisp photo shooting phone. It has to have excellent photos. Note8 photos are not good. Memories ought to look good.

My brother's Note 8 has good photos. Not as good as the S9 but good enough and it has dual lenses for the pseudo bokeh. It's a better buy than the S8+ and S9+ IMO.
Will consider the Note 8 also if it drops to ~30k. Better deal than an S9 with a lock-in plan.

Never naman magiging 30k sa Samsung store. SRP is still 45k. Sa secondhand market yung 35k price niya ngayon.
One option to get a Note 8 for under 30k is to get plan 1499 sa Globe tapos 28.8k lang cash out sa Note 8.
But in reality you're getting it for 40k because the offer of plan 1499 with a phone is the same as plan 999 without a phone. So if you consider the 500/month difference, that's 12k for the total 2 year contract period.

i'm considering Note 8 too but OS still is android Nougat. i wonder when will the upgrade to android 8.0 Oreo will happen![]()
are Samsung AMOLED screens lasting only for 2 years?
the burn in of my S7e is very visible now, especially if with white background. my phone is barely 2 years old, and mainly used for basic calls/texting/internet browsing. i'm more in music listening via Spotify/Tidal/Deezer and music stored in microSD card and no gaming...
same sentiments. top portion sucks now.. even the max brightness isnt as good. its difficult watching netflix now while driving [emoji28]

Baka kailangan i-shut down yung phone occasionally or from time to time to preserve the condition of the amoled screen.
