Also got a Z. Are you on Globe? If so, ever got the LTE to work? I'm still out of town so I haven't got a chance to test it out. The newly-replaced micro-SIM is already LTE-enabled.

    Thanks with that info.

I just discovered something strange about Globe's LTE and their SIM cards.

Last week (Tuesday), I bought an Xperia Z in Glorietta 3 and proceeded to the nearest Globe Business Center to replace my standard SIM with one that is already LTE-enabled.

When I got to their office, I specifically asked for a micro-SIM card that is LTE-enabled. Prior to my visit, I knew for a fact that they're already offering the BB Z10 LTE (which also uses a micro-SIM) so I'm confident that Globe's LTE is no longer exclusive to the iPhone's nano-SIM.

Well, almost a week later, still no 4G reception on my phone. All this time, I was only connecting at up to H+ speeds and was almost certain that it could be a problem with my new phone. I was even considering returning it to the shop. But on a hunch, I borrowed an officemate's nano-SIM from his iPhone 5. Using a bit of Scotch tape, I was able to secure the nano-SIM on the Xperia Z's micro-SIM tray, inserted it and powered up the phone.

10 seconds later, BOOM! The 4G indicator icon lit up.

Another visit to a different Globe business center today confirmed that it might be a configuration glitch specific to my account and I'm not the only one having the same issue. They sort of promised that I will be contacted "soon" when they already have a fix to the problem.

So if you are a Globe postpaid subscriber and you have an LTE phone that can operate on LTE Band 3 (1800 MHz), you should be able to use their LTE facility. If not, it could be a SIM problem or a configuration problem (telco or your phone).

Lampaso ang Xperia Z sa S4....Anyway you can always reason that you couldn't wait and needed a phone now.

So, we started with the inevitable, and end on the unexpected. The Sony Xperia Z and Samsung Galaxy S4 are the crown jewels of their respective lineup and on the (very short) shortlist of contenders for smartphone of the year, so the one-way traffic throughout is coming right out of the blue.

Sony managed to deliver its smartphone to the market two months earlier than the competition and has been cashing in on that advantage very well since. However, Samsung obviously used the time well and brought a product that is ready to overwhelm the Xperia Z, when it hits the shelves.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is equipped with the latest version of the Android OS and will come powered by the two most potent chipsets in the smartphone market. It also comes with that impressive 5-inch 1080p SuperAMOLED display that nearly humiliated Sony's mildly disappointing screen.

    Samsung I9500 Galaxy S4 • Samsung I9505 Galaxy S4
The Samsung Galaxy S4 easily comes across as the superior smartphone, but does it mean that the Xperia Z should start packing? Is there really nothing that the best of Sony in a smartphone can offer against the best Samsung smartphone? Of course there is.

The Sony Xperia Z is still an impressively capable package and one of the coolest pieces of smartphone design. The IP57 certification will appeal to the outdoorsy type who need a smartphone with better than average protection against the elements. And we wouldn't say that water resistance is its best bet at staying relevant. The Xperia Z is better than that.

    Sony Xperia Z
With all the tests we did and numbers thrown around it's easy to forget that the Sony Xperia Z offers impressive smartphone experience and comes in a beautiful glass-clad body. And mind you, it wasn't Samsung's goal to make the Galaxy S4 the best kept secret by giving it a finish that just doesn't look premium. Anyway, if you don't need all the extra goodies of the Galaxy S4, why not give your eyes a treat. Of course, in that case you should also give the HTC One a serious consideration, but that's the topic for a yet another shootout. And you can bet it's coming up.

So, if you chose the Sony Xperia Z for the looks and the water resistance, you don't need us telling you it's money well spent. By the way, we are certain that many bought the Xperia Z because there was nothing better on the market at the time. This will be the reasoning of future Galaxy S4 owners too. To be fair though, that's easier said about the Xperia Z then, than it is for the Galaxy S4 now. Oh well, it's a compliment that goes both ways. And rightfully so.

Indeed sir mon. Hanap pa ako ng review ng Samsung Galaxy S4 vs. HTC One naman. Pero nung nakita ko ung specs ng HTC One, 4megapixel lang cam. Parang no contest na agad.

Yesterday i went to a smartphone shop here in SG, Tinesting ko yung Nokia Lumia 820 smartphone. I was surprise!,Ang bilis din pala nito sa mga scrolling at processing. The colors on the screen were very good. Camera is excellent since they are using a Carl Zeis photo lens. Listening to music is good kailangan i setup lang yun equalizer sa gusto mong sound enviroment. The price is SGD 509.00. Medyo messy lang yun arrangement nang tiles & icons. But i think you can customize it. All in all its a very good phone. phonehero.jpg
