OB gave a futuristic stance saying that cloud is the future for storing and accessing your data, and i have to agree with him on this. Actually, sinimulan na ni apple and amazon. You can access your data anywhere, anytime (of course if you have internet connection) and it is more cost effective than portable storage. Di mo naman laging madadala ang USB mo and unlike sa cloud, your data will follow you

Di pa natin masyado ma enjoy ang full functionality ng cloud because of poor internet infrastructure and mahal pa sa ngayon

But yes, portable storage will soon become obsolete. remember the floppy discs?

A real high speed broadband 24/7 internet is still light years away for us... and if you're OK to pay and trust someone to store your data for you. Cloud storage is not free.

    Hay salamat,maasahan talaga is shadow.

Btw, here's another obism. Don't collect so much files like downloaded mp3's or ******* videos. Kse when you think like that you tend to rely on external hard drives and portable drives.

The only thing that you can own are your own photos and videos. Others are stolen, and therefore you keep stolen stuff and may karma yan..

Greed and gluttony can also be applied sa technology, and therefore anything sobra is masama. These people who jailbreak or root their androids are gluttons and cheapskates. They don't want to pay for apps and they flood their devices with so many apps, That only clutter your mind, and therefore make you less productive in real work.

Kaya nga I view android as a temporary technology eh, it's characteristic as a free for all OS will be its own demise. Sooner or later people will realize if they are really wasting time on useless apps.

    ------

I keep 8000 travel photos in iPhone and wirelessly synced in my iPad. Now how the hell did I put All of those kuha ng previous DSLR and my current LX5, I reduced them to 56kb files each, and it still looks good in the superior iDEvice screens.

The megapixel wars are over. PRiNT is over! So no sense bringing your 12MP Raw photos 24-7. Just back it up Lang in a ext drive with your dinosaur laptop/desktop Pc. That's the only use of my Pc nowadays- for Photoshop and Photo resizing, and more often I only do that during after travel or occasions when I use my Lx.

Ever seen that vin diesel movie wherein he held a paper like display screen, yan ang future, you bring your iPad with you and show off your photo albums in restaurants or get togethers.. So print will be over and it'll help not cut down more trees and cure the environment.

Other than that I use my IPhone camera for spur of the moment bragging photos for which it is truly deserved - social networking.

This is the new digital age, folks. I have become more efficient now. office docs, I bought Apple's Pages and Numbers (counterpart of Word and Excel)' and I do my word processing in the ipad with a mini wireless apple keyboard -I only use this keyboard pag high volume ang iType ko, Kung Hindi I use the iPad pull up keyboard. My files in the apple iCloud. Note taking/lists/productivity, I use Ms Onenote for iPad, and utilize the Microsoft Cloud to sync my unified noted in IPad IPhone and Laptop Ms Office.

Computers will be obsolete, HP will be cutting 50% of its workforce in the laptop/desktop division. Clearly, that's a sign that your PC will be the old cassette radio, and USB disks with be the old cassette tape.

technically it's free for a limited storage. dropbox can go up to 18GB free. icloud is about 5GB. not so much but at least you'll have an idea how cloud works.

security is a very big issue, though

portable storage will not become obsolete, it could change shape, form, connection type but in the end it will still be here. floppy discs have just changed into usb flash drives but it still performs the same function...save and store your files.

before ive read about cloud, yan narin goal ko dati. that is to store my files in the net so i can access them anywhere, but just as you've said, we have poor internet infrastructure, i might have fast connections at home but not elsewhere, therefore accessing my files could be more of a hassle than just bringing a small thumbdrive.

and i dont agree with it being more cost effective. hindi libre ang net connection, malls with free wifis suck. it costs Php10 to transfer 1MB of file on time charge. if kb charge mas mahal

i will quote you- 'Greed and gluttony can also be applied sa technology, and therefore anything sobra is masama' kaya tama na bili mo ng apple products, come to think of it, you dont need any hardware with you because soon they will all be obsolete, yang tablet, iphone...they still rely on physical touch so just sell them and store everything on your mind. kasi soon apple will invent the ultimate technology that does not need human touch, nor audio input, you just have to imagine it...and they will call it just that - iMAGINE

ayan inunahan na kita sa prophecies mo, nakakahawa yung obism

    probably a cloud-like shape

before ive read about cloud, yan narin goal ko dati. that is to store my files in the net so i can access them anywhere, but just as you've said, we have poor internet infrastructure, i might have fast connections at home but not elsewhere, therefore accessing my files could be more of a hassle than just bringing a small thumbdrive.
i agree, as long as our internet sucks, i would still use usb sticks but not so much as before

and i dont agree with it being more cost effective. hindi libre ang net connection, malls with free wifis suck. it costs Php10 to transfer 1MB of file on time charge. if kb charge mas mahal
like i said, for now since internet is not cheap, mas praktikal nga ang portables. but once the internet charge goes down and cloud becomes mainstream, then it will be more cost effective.

and how about losing your data because your portable usb suddenly failed? that would be priceless

Prediction is it's the "rumoured" new mini IPad that will steal the show from IPhone 5. Depende na kung meron ngang mini Ipad na lalabas...heheheh.
