We have a ref like that in the province AND it is still working. Lever nga pang bukas (posted about it years ago) Mom said it was bought in the 1950s, the brand is Firestone. That ref is amazing! Senior age na lol. Yun Panasonic namin 9 yrs old nagloloko na?!?!
I wish I could take a photo but I don't go home na kasi.

the VW fans will try to outbid each other there...
heh heh.
we used to have an International Harvester brand of ref, in the late 50s - early 60s.
made by the same company that manufactured farm equipment.
dad finally got rid of it, because it was consuming so much electricity.
replacing it with a more modern model, a whirlpool (made in usa back then), had a dramatic drop in our meralco bill.
Our same LG ref is not cooling anymore. Pinacheck namin sa service center, and yung findings is may leak sa filter dryer. They are charging us 7,500 to have it serviced. Then the technician offered 5,000 under the table. Sobrang mahal parin considering they will only need to replace the filter dryer and do freon vacuum and recharge.

Yup, hanap lang ako ng ibang technician. 5,000 is too much for dryer replacement. I think its a simple job lang naman, since need lang maganda pagka weld ng pipes. Need to check what refrigerant lang gamit, if R600 or R134a ba. Im also looking for a technician na willing to weigh the refrigerant rather than someone who will only base it on high and low pressure gauge

Nawala ulit lamig ng ref (but again, the freezer is working) I want to replace this ref na but it looks like LG isn't matibay also. I am unhappy with our Panasonic naman. Last night I heard something sa kitchen, I thought it was water dropping from the faucet, yung ref pala
Should it be LG or Panasonic then
Yes you will, may tawad talaga sa Anson's, 1 tip given to me here was to find the cheapest price you could online and ask Anson's to match. So I did this with my AC, I asked the guy if they will give it at that price, he went to consult with the manager and came back with an even lower price, but I paid straight cc, could have been lower if I had cash maybe.
both LG and Pana are ok. I would get the pana for its feature set though.
the cash n carry outlet still gives discounts, naman.
this is where i have been purchasing our home appliances for many years now.
costumer density still not as heavy as before covid's.
go there late morning or early afternoon, for minimum bodies.
if you are fine with buying sight-unseen,
i think they have online purchase program.
minor quirk with the LG ref (that i got).
pangit the ice maker and tray. "flimsy and not user-friendly." must be horrendous for the vertically challenged.
and oh!
mind the delivery fee.

Bad trip tong Panasonic na ref we bought September last year lang. Kahit max na fridge eh nasa 7 to 10 degrees lang. It should be 1 to 3 degrees pag max. I remember when closing the door usually may maingay na air na sisirit, ngayon wala na.
Mas lalo pa bad trip di ko na makita resibo. All i have is the warranty card na walang date of purchase. I have called service center sana may mag visit this week.
Our Panasonic inverter ref is 1 yr old pa, hindi nga lang bottom freezer.
Didn't experienced the same issue, naka mid always setting since eto yung mag aactivate ng saving feature ng Ref.
Im happy so far, sana magtagal just like our old panasonic ref.
I wish hassle free ang warranty process ng Panasonic. What will I experience from this will dictate my future purchase of Panasonic brand. I'm even willing to pay for the repair service because I'm stupid enough to lose the receipt. Although funny enough, I have the warranty card, user manual, quick start guide, even the leaflet of Panasonic ads. The only thing I'm missing is the receipt.
