PLDT myDSL Subscribers: is your connection OK?

my bayantel dsl bumbagal lang for 1-5 mins..on specific times of 6pm, 9pm and 12am.

ang dsl connection namin is only the dsl service itself...kaya siguro bihira ang DC....nga pala, bayantel calls their subscribers kung may scheduled na "no-internet" or "systems-upgrade"..

sabi nila from 3-5am tomorrow, july 13,2005, walang internet....titignan ko kung anu na mangyayari after their upgrade......

hayyy still battling with the discon problem. still waiting for a technician to change the modem...and yet dumating ang bill namen for two months pa!. so disappointing...

What is your plan? If it is the one with a dynamic IP address, then try disconnecting, then count to 15 (to prevent getting the same IP address), then reconnect again. Usually, this will solve the slowdown problem.

Try to reset the modem, i.e. switch it off, count to 10, then switch it on again.

Check the cabling of the phone line to the modem and then to your pc. Minsan kasi nakatwist or may nakaipit, or nakapatong sa mainit na bagay. This will degrade performance.

Also, try to clean the DSL modem once in a while, and place the modem in a well-ventilated area, since a hot modem does degrade the performance. If its hot, pwede mo rin tapatan ng electric fan.

Try also to download the Ad-Aware program. I've seen extreme slowdowns of internet access because of spyware. Nung natanggal, ayan ok na ulit.

Apparently, PLDT service is getting worse. Took me around 1.5 months just to transfer my PLDT landline. One the day that I was filling up my Bayantel application, bigla silang dumating. Talk about ESP...

Unfortunately, mabilis lang ito sa Pldt websites, Google and Yahoo and some selected websites. Also in playing Counterstrike: Source (asian/international servers). Average ko now is 700 kbps nalang samantalang kahapon mga 900

This is really weird as common websites such as apple.com fails to load everytime. even cnn (just loads partially and sometimes without pics) and bbcnews. tsikot.com occasionally loads.

To make things worse, PLDTs customer service is almost non-existent. sobra talagang SAMA. I waited (using speakerphone) for hours, literally, pero wala talaga. most of the time pa, busy ang linya. CAll center na nagbibusy? meron ba non?

Hay nako. Nakikita ko ang potential ng speed pero palpak lang in most websites.

can our IT friends explain this?

btw, I interchange with a mac (powerbook) and a 3.2 g PC with the exact same results so hindi computer ko ang problema. I go to the pldtweroam FLASH heavy website and it loads extremely fast so what gives?

Mabilis ang ping sa PLDT sites talaga, it's like browsing via network. Basta ISP based speed test page mabibilis ang results. Try other internet speed test pages like:

ang weird nga ng PLDT DSL. sa McAfee, dati nakaka 700+kbps ako, ngayon palaging less than 200kbps nalang.

sa GlobeQuest naman palaging above 700kbps.
