    sometimes the modem overheats and the speed nung dsl drops.

    check for line noise, right away when you get dced. demand the pldt technician to have the box thingy sa poste checked. kailangan mung kulitin yung mga taga pldt. used to have disconection problems before which lasted for months also, the problem is usually not within the house. called the technical hotline almost everyday, pumupunta naman ang technician walang magawa, pero na ayos naman after na check yung linya sa labas. ever since then, nawala na yung problema. and also keep the phone line extensions to a minimum as possible. check mo rin your neighbors if they have the same problem.

    knight23, are you referring to the box where the line from PLDT connects with the line going to my house? yung meron din papuntang ground? pinalitan na rin yun. nag check na rin sila ng voltage sa line ko going to their switch in their central office here, at first medyo mataas, pero nung pinalitan na lahat ng telephone wires sa bahay, naging normal na.

    and isa lang ang extension nitong DSL line ko, fax machine lang. dedicated fax line kasi ito.

    so basically modem ang problema?? kase wala den makitang problem sa amen eh. pero bat ganun nagdidiscon den. dapat nde eh. . . .

    I used to subscribe also to MyDsl and one of the things they installed was a line filter which helped a bit. Pero being one of the few people who got dsl before in Cebu, may problema palagi. May yahoogroups na PldtDsl which may help you....

    Dapat lang talaga within the line of sight ka na 3Km ata yun. We had to change PPPoe software din since yung installed nila wasn't stable to their network tapos naka ilang palit ng IP.

    its possible din yung pppoe software din if your not using windows xp, but i dont think its the modem.

    Everyday nadidisconnect ang DSL ko.. nakakainis. Very unreliable. Minsan napipilitan pa akong buhayin yung dial-up dahil laging nag oout-of-sync yung modem ko.

    do you think PLDT will go to the extent of replacing the 'junction box' just because ONE subscriber is having difficulty connecting to their DSL?

    hindi na man cguro, have it checked lang. our problem was fixed after checking the box. btw, meron bang line noise sa iyo?
