I'm disappointed at ArmA 2. I thought Crysis was a hog. But at least if a pc was beefy enough to run Crysis, the game itself is quite polished with excellent single-player and gorgeous visuals to boot.
ArmA 2 is a very good simulation of combat especially with the multiplayer aspect. But, it's even more of a hog than Crysis with not as much eye candy to show for it. Crysis came out as simply overloaded with eye candy while ArmA 2 feels unoptimized.
Crysis didn't make game of the year when it came out because it was such a hog. But once the steep requirements to run it fluidly (and most graphics settings intact) was satisfied, I'd say it could've been GOTY material back in 2007.
