Apple does know how to market its products...and to be fair, they do make it easier to use, especially for non-techies.

That's the problem with geeks sometimes, they feel that people should adapt to technology...but Apple, M$, etc made big money when they adapted technology for non-techies.

Puwede din sir gayahin mo Toyota. May Lexus para sa mga minority.

Tutal may very good and big cash cow na siya sa Toyota eh.

Kaya nga malupit din talaga iPhone, mahal pero mainstream siya.

Depends on your strategy imho: you can sell less of a product with a very high markup, or you can sell a lot of stuff with very low markup , i.e. parang Honda vs Toyota.

To execute the first strategy, you have to build something that people want; Apple is at that stage where it can tell people what "cool" is. ....which i find a little creepy.

^A tech company does not necessarily have to cater to mainstream only.

Notable examples would be nVidia and AMD GPUs.

Both companies have mainstream, enthusiast, enterprise, and workstation line-up of graphics cards.

Sure there's a lot of money in their mainstream products but they cannot absolutely disregard their enthusiast and enterprise products because they present a so-called "Halo" effect and are labelled as "Halo" products - they are the latest and greatest, and years away from going mainstream. Think of it as a tech company's calling card for high margin contracts.
Damn, son! Where'd you find this?

I don't know how long will Apple marketing hype last now that Jobs is gone. That man is a marketing genius.

Mas malupit ang Samsung, it controls the largest market share.

Masyado kasing maraming phone models ang samsung. Meron tig P500 lang up to 30k+.

Apple only 1 phone model (considered na ba as separate phone models ang 6 & 6+?). And only caters to the high end market.
