^^ siguro yung figures na yan in relation to units sold. In effect same margin of malfunction.
Edit: My Asus just worked for a year before falling apart and would not turn on. Papaayos ko sana kaso mahal kaya bili na lang ng tablet.![]()

Lenovo z400 or thinkpad b480 / edge e431 depende application needs mo..
Im a lenovo user for 4-5years na wala akong nagiging problema.. Before ako nglenovo, asus ako.. ok din naman, pero wala syang safety features sa wear and tear para sa battery tulad ng sa lenovo..
Plus yung thinkpad afaik 2years ang warranty for your confidence..

Hmmm matignan ko nga rin ang sony na laptop.
Neighbor ko kasi yun ang binili dati.
Mukhang
Asus
Sony
Acer
ang titignan ko this week.
If you have other brands good and bad experience just post it here.
Thanks.

Toshiba laptops for me are still the best, pagdating sa reliability.
I had a Toshiba Satellite laptop, used it for 5 years, sobrang bagal nalang, kaya kelangan ng iretire..
Then I bought an HP Compaq in 2009, buhay pa till now, naka-windows 8 na din, ahaha! yun nga lang, parang CPU nalang sya, kasi nasunog na yung LCD nya, wala ng ilaw. ehehe!
Dito sa office, 3 years na mahigit ang Dell Latitude ko, wala pa din naman breakdown.
Pero wala ng saysay ang laptop ngayon, kasi may tablet naman na. If you need it for games, nothing beats a desktop. Assemble nalang.![]()

Am also planning to buy one soon, so I asked around various PC shops in Greenhills and in several malls, (and also checked online pricelists). I usually ask them to recommend three most reliable brands based on lower return/defect rate.
Common response I got (outside Apple as I prefer Windows based laptop/ultrabook) was these three brands:
Asus
Sony
Toshiba
Specs can be decided after that.
And based on further research, I'm leaning towards Asus because of reliability stats, and better priced than the other two Japan brands.
Best prices I'm getting for laptops are at Gilmore. Hope this helps.
How about we bundle our purchase, we might get a special price for 2 or more laptops from the same shop at same time.
As per my experience using Windows laptops:
MSI - my first ever laptop which was bought last July2009. Got it for 27K with free mouse. After 2 years the hinge broke. Took it to megamall for repair, cost me P2500 IINM. Still functions even now as I've given it to my brother in the PH. Battery life is crappy, can only do 1hr nowadays.
Dell - wifey's first laptop bought here (ordered online thru Dell site). Around $600 that time and it was actually good. Still functions up to this day but much slower, and weaker battery life.
As per experiece repairing laptos:
I think I have repaired about a hundred laptops during my work as a Computer Technician. It ranges from infection from viruses, trojans, reinstalling OSes, installing software and security programs, calibrating and replacing battery life, upgrading RAM, HDD, replacing non-working fans and heatsinks, broken screens, coke-spilled keyboards - the whole nine yards.
Most of the laptops i've repaired were Acers, HPs and e-Machines. For every 10 laptops that went in our shop, 7 of then are Acer.
Not actually bashing Acer for having poor quality, maybe it's their low cost that drives people in buying them.
To sum it up, for 30-35K, find a used 13" macbook or an older 15" macbook pro. They are really durable and withstand the test of time (and user's abuse).
They can be easily upgraded by swapping optical HDDs to SSDs and/or adding more RAM.
yup, acer, hp and also dell dami nagamit nyan sa pinas kaya mataas din ang defects rateAcer have good quality naman and low cost nga kaya marami nabili, kahit ako ACER gamit ko, meron kasi repair center sa min ASERO repair center nila, kaya pag nasira malapit lang gawaan hehe legit pa, pero so far so good pa din naman
sobra mahal kasi SONY, toshiba laptop sa pinas with low specification sa price nya parang IPHONE hehe![]()
hindi din matibay yung casing nang samsung medyo brittle yung plastic.. we also had one before ang unang nasira yung plastic holding the hinge sa lcd and keyboard..
Broken hinges is a rather common thing with late 1990s HP laptops (I was a certified technician for HP laptops & laserjet printers years ago) and even for the cheaper laptops of other brands as well.
With laptops today, I find that as long as you don't open the lid to its maximum angle often, the hinge portion tends to stay intact longer.
