my current 5mbps plan at Globe and PLDT are now hovering around 7.5Mbps and 10Mbps respectively. Decent number for Globe given how far am I from the CO.

My Globe 400Gb plan is now unli for 3 months. :D

PLDT Fibr installers gave me a choice: 1) they would pass the exposed cable through the nearest opening (window, door) and install a modem there, or 2) they would leave a roll of fiber cable and I would have my own contractor install it in a conduit from my house post to wherever I wanted the modem to sit plus at least a meter of cable, at my expense. I opted for 2, and specified to my contractor to bring an electrician that had experience with fiber. It wasn't cheap, but it looks clean, the modem is exactly where I want it to be, and the conduit protects it from the elements.

Reminded me of when Bayantel installed a phone in my old house. I chose 1 then, because I was cheap. But because the cable was exposed, signal often suffered and it deteriorated quickly.

Just received an email from PLDT and ok na rin fiber application ko.

But I think I'll stick it out with converge na lang. I'm really fed up with PLDT's service.

Plus we personally applied from the shot caller of converge. Nakakahiya naman dahil he personally handled it Actually sinabi ng converge wala ng slot and I told the him about it when the he asked for my address and said he'll personally handle it. Next day meron na tumawag and magically nagkaroon ng slot. [emoji23]

Big shout out to this man. Very down to earth and nag reply talaga sa text.


Kaya mga pards lipat na kayo ng converge. [emoji39] kailangan na talaga maturuan ng leksyon itong PLDT.

Ere nakaka asar. Share ko lang, na wala ako masyado ginagawa sa office , kaya naisip ko sumama sa Field sa mga Lineman , na experience ko napagalitan ako ng client, nakaka bwiset kase yung mga technical assistance at Sales assistance mahilig makikipag commit sa client pero pag ibinato samin nakaka 1 month to 3 months na pala nakalipas yung report/ service order, kaya sobrang late na talaga bago ma service/repair . kung ako man nung customer bi bwiset din talaga ako.

Question regarding sa Globe Rewards, do they really give out free phones (iPhones, Samsung S series) to their loyal customers? Lets say 10-15 years with them? Or they’re just being offered a low cash down for a specific phone?

Globe used to give monthly rebates for loyal subscribers ... Lately they give rewards annually on 9-17 which you can use to purchase at Marks and Spencer ...

Ganyan din smart dati. I can convert 50 points to ₱50 off sa bill using their website. They scraped it and converted it to MVP Rewards. Mas mababa ang earning ko sa MVP rewards, plus it's tied to PayMaya, which I don't use, kaya bali wala points ko.

Leased lines have static IPaddress..all ports open..the subscriber can control everything

It's not safe to expose your IP cams to the internet using port-forwarding. There are a lot of cases of them being hacked by taking advantage of vulnerabilities.

I have a few legacy IP cams (10 years old) that used to have port-forwarding set for them at the firewall. I have since removed the port-forwarding rules and instead, setup VPN in order to view the cameras. It's an extra step on my part but it's infinitely more secure than exposing the camera on the internet.

I also have a newer PTZ IP cam that uses the P2P IP camera protocol (no port-forwarding necessary). I would prefer a non-P2P camera but this is all the rave right now. For that matter, I went for a reputable company called Wyze. They have a great community and the staff are equally responsive to questions and issues. They are based in the US and as of this writing, there hasn't been a hacking case since they went into business.

On the other hand, Chinese P2P IP camera cloud servers are what most generic IP cameras connect to. I simply don't trust them.

Wala naman kasing outdoor type na CCTV cam yan wuze? Or meron? I need an outdoor wireless cam that will be under the elements and China brand lang meron available.
