Wow! Good thing I bought 3 pc kanina. Hanggang tomorrow lunch pa ko KFC. Surprisingly, hindi pa ko nagsasawa I've been eating nothing but KFC since yesterday

Kayo na lang manlibre sakin :P

I'm thinking of using my remaining points at M&S but I would have to add P400 cash P800 kasi gusto ko bilhin e 200 points na lang ako.

They also ran out of chicken in ATC today but they entered it para humabol sa x2 na points, bukas na daw icclaim ang chicken. Also got boxers from Bench 😁 sayang ang x2 points, may natira pa kong 345 points kaso nagmamadali ako kanina. I don't really avail or pay attention to promos, good thing I didnt delete Globe's message😄

Effective talaga tong mga rewards points. People really go gaga over rewards points without taking into consideration how much more they've actually paid the company.

I remember when we launched a partnership with one of the biggest loyalty cards several years ago. I was like, "you need to spend that much to earn 1 point? That's not even 1% of the total amount spent!" Yet somehow it really did drive volume up.

Very good publicity for the company with a much higher perceived payout compared to actual marketing expense.

But this one from Globe is totally free. This is the first time I used my points for purchases after seeing the post of uls. I'm not sure if I was given rewards in the previous years since I normally ignore Globe texts. I'm really happy with this because I didn't need a "minimum spend"

Yes that's exactly how customers perceive it - a freebie. Say you really spend 2500 a month on your phone bill, and then after 5 years you get points equal to 1% of your total spend, or roughly 1,500 pesos. Nice right, you get P1,500 free.

However, the opportunity cost of that decision to stay on Plan 2500 for 5 years is that you could've changed to a cheaper plan with similar benefits - it happens yearly that data allocation is increased for lower plans, and unless you ask for it, the telco will keep you in your legacy plan with lower data allocation.

From experience, my plan 2500 from 4 years ago was offering the same benefits as plan 999 2 years ago, so I made the switch. Instead of spending P150k in 5 years, I only spent [2500 x 24]+ [799 (999 less 200 rebate) x 36] = P88,764.

So I may not have gotten P1,500 in "free" points, but I saved over 60k in actual phone bill payments over the course of 5 years.

well yeah of course they made a lot of money off us so those points are really our money

globe has been making money off me uninterrupted for 17 years (i didn't realize it was that long)

it's nice of them to reward us for our loyalty

they could have not rewarded us and we'll still be their customers anyway

I prefer to reward myself with savings by changing my plan on a regular basis whenever a cheaper plan that fulfills my requirements comes up.

See post above, total savings is much higher than whatever Globe would be willing to reward me.

I'm plan P250 for over a decade This was until an idiot customer service representative "misunderstood" me and changed my plan. I asked Globe to bring back my old plan but they said it's not possible anymore.

I still think this is free since I use their service anyway. I didn't have to do anything extra such as a minimum spend to get these points.

I think these points were given based on the number of yrs with Globe. I have no plans of changing my number anyway no matter what

I love Globe again. I hated Globe when they recently had another technical issue forcing me to change my plan again.
